I purchased this small, vintage TR King set, which was listed here and on pokerchipper, from @Okku through pokerchipper on July 24 last year. I told him I would be back from traveling overseas the following week and to ship it then. His wife was going through a high-risk pregnancy, so I told him there was not a rush. That was August 2nd. On August 22nd, I inquired about a topper to go with a Samurai Palace set. He agreed to design it and I paid him for it. I followed up September 21st, and he replied the next day that he would get to it soon. Waiting patiently, I followed up on November 2nd. Over the next two days, he sent an initial version and a pair of revisions. On the third, I asked him if there was a place to add a pop of color and he said yes. February 2nd I folllow up again, asking for a design element to be deleted to the topper and for him to please send the chips. He responded on February 14th that he would make that change and ship the chips that week. March 25th, I followed up again. The next day he said he would send the chips Monday and finish the topper. On March 29th, he sent me a topper design that had the requested changes, and I was happy with it. He emailed me the file.

Now the chips? Still waiting. I did not anticipate such a visible member taking so long or not sending updates, but I think it needs to be mentioned. FWIW, I like the guy a lot; he has designed labels and a topper for me; I like his videos and appreciate his passion, and I thought he got treated poorly here when he left his previous employer; I even contributed to his registry because I know how much of a drain any difficult and high-risk pregnancies are on families; but I am disappointed with the nine-month-plus wait, especially when he has been actively selling in the classifieds in the meantime, and the absence of communication. It's a small, inexpensive set compared to some stuff, but what is our community without accountability? Even saying "hey, I'm way behind on this project, and I'm sorry" (which one member did for me, and I completely understood and appreciated the situation because of his simple communication) would be preferable to nothing. Anyway, it's a reminder to me to be more clear with expectations and to reach out sooner during any transaction. Hopefully, it doesn't happen to anyone else.

Short version: I waited long intervals without communication from Oscar on a topper design, and I am still waiting on a small chipset purchase from 9-10 months ago.

I'm sure you were following the cut card group buy saga. You need to stay on top of him. Not excusing or condoning what's happening.

Yeah I picked that up midway through.

We worked together on some labels right before spinettis sniped him. Comms were good but I did see another mention of this before. (Separate from the cut card saga)

Definitely not a one off and you are not the only person who has shown frustration. Don’t take it too personal, dudes going thru it I’m sure. That’s with just being a husband a new father. Not excusing behavior but ya know…

And hopefully you are only out a few hundo if he happens to flake on you and not cover the cost of the chips. You da man @BKisback keep ya head up.

So I can totally relate to putting something off because of ADHD, which is idiotically debilitating at times. I can avoid replying for way too long out of a sense of being "stuck" in completely benign conversations with no conflict in them, which, if an outsider witnessed, they would rightly wonder what the fuck was wrong with me. (It sucks, I'm working on it).

But if someone can find time to be cashing checks on the forum, they can take the literal 20 seconds to refund the man's money.

The feeling of potentially being scammed SUCKS, and being trapped on read with that feeling for months is a little piece of hell. @BKisback is a great member. @Okku release him!

has he said the reason for delaying sending the chips? See him posting about being open for designs so no excuse to not be able to send chips or refund you if he is advertising his services
He’s also pretty active on fb. Dude is 100% around. I can’t figure out why @Okku would choose to ruin his integrity. He’s totally aware of this situation and is just being a giant flake. I thought dude was always solid but I guess not. Kids these days….

Maybe a PM would have been better than "throwing shade" in his eBay plug.
Maybe. If I dug up his eBay handle on my own then posted here, yeah…maybe.

BUT he posted that on a fb chip collector group. IMO if you make a public post or make a video or whatever, then you are opening yourself up for scrutiny. I have no problem whatsoever putting people on blast when they deserve it.

Just like if you moved on my block and there was a greasy car salesman shop on the corner. If I saw you talking to the sales guy I would walk right over and let you know that he was a scammer. If Oscar wanted to be invisible he wouldn’t be active over there and not over here. You’d think he’d just go dark.

I say we all PM him.
Please don't do that. If there's one thing that's not needed, it's more distraction.

@Okku PMed me and said he received goods and would be sending them out to me. Now, more than a month later and three ignored PMs and I have no answers.

Maybe if he owed you chips then blast away. You're just shit posting if he doesn't.

Oscar had me wait a month for a handful of chips and then on another deal a month for a rack of chips. I took it up with him. And like a big boy I learned my lesson (the old "fool me once" one). That doesn't mean he will do that to everyone, but he'll never do it again to me. I'm not White Knight defending Oscar. I'm expressing my opinion about your decision to shitpost on his Facebook post. If anyone had a reason to do what you did it was me. Again, thats just my opinion. You might feel you're protecting others (ie White Knighting). I think you could have chosen a different path. But we both like fugly poker tables and deals on chips so we still got that in common! :)

Unfortunately I had the same experience for an inlay design. He was quite highly recommended to me by several people in early Oct. last year so I reached out to get an inlay design done. I was originally quoted "about a weekend" so I took that as realistically being about a 1-2 week ordeal. It quickly turned into 3 months of the same situation with me constantly following up and nicely asking for updates and I got the same response back many times "I'll start this tomorrow".

By the end of it I discovered the cut card group buy situation and realized he was going through some things and had too much on his plate. I never heard from him again after December so I just gave up on it and moved on.

From all of the recommendations I saw it sounds like he's a good guy who just ended up taking on way too much work and going through a rough personal patch. Hopefully he gets past all of this soon and clears his plate and then can continue on like it seemingly used to be.

The deal feedback system is the under utilized as we know. It might be interesting if there was a dashboard showing how many people ignored/block each member. Then new members could connect the dots.

My lists are long and almost entirely dedicated to making sure I don’t transact with untrustworthy people. It has saved me from interacting with periodic scammers.

I’m involved in a situation with Oscar presently…

On 10/31/2024 I agreed to sell chips to Oscar (at a discount) with agreement that he pay $200 up front and then the remaining $700 over the next 6 months.

I shipped the chips immediately.

Received first $200 on 11/13/24

I then was working on label design for my Vegas Vic’s set and worked briefly with Oscar on a design. While I didn’t ultimately use his work as we couldn’t get on the same page, I deducted $200 from the balance he owed me as payment.

Fast forward 10 months to September of 2025 and I reach back out to see what the plans for the remaining $500 was.

Oscar promised to pay but nothing happened.

On 12/4/25 I reach back out and Oscar promises “regular payments” will start soon.

On 12/11/25 commits to $75-$100 per month.

Oscar sends me $75 on January 12, 2026 after I reach out again.

Then promises payment every two weeks.

No payments or communication until I reach back out on Feb 24.

Oscar promises $150 the following week.

Oscar pays $100 on March 3.

More excuses and more excuses.

Oscar pays $100 on May 14.

We are now 19 months in from our 6 month agreement and I’m still out $225 on chips that I discounted to begin with.

I’m now even more frustrated knowing it’s happening to others as well.

I held off saying anything to the group at large because I thought it was only me and I didn’t want to ruin his reputation but now I see it’s a much larger issue.

Do business with Oscar going forward at your own risk.

Blowing up his FB post was 100% justified and reasonable. This is a lot worse than just one sale that went sideways. It's right to give people a warning before they engage in a sale with him.

It's not like he's so occupied with daddy duties that he disappeared off the internet. He's still engaging in the exact same sort of commerce, literally selling chips. He's choosing not to communicate with people he owes money and chips to. He knows y'all are out there. It's now well past the point of a few months of disruption, temporary personal problems, etc.

It's good to have a fair amount of patience. Life is how it is, and stuff can happen.

But from the sound of it, this stopped being an honest mistake (if it ever was) many months ago and turned into him taking advantage of people's trust.

It is unclear but I assume you sent him the chips immediately but he still owes you for them?

I started off agreeing with you, but now with hindsight, if the people chiming in now spoke up earlier, perhaps a lot of this could have been avoided…or at least transactions could be made with all the information.
