Hello from the UK!
I’m part of a university poker society, and we’re looking to buy a new set of customs to accommodate several tables. We run games of £0.05/£0.05, £0.10/£0.25 and £1/£1, currently with a mix of different chip sets.
On a busy night we may have (9-handed) 3 tables of £0.05, 3 tables of £0.25, and 2 tables of £1 running, and the £1/1 usually plays quite deep.
I came up with the following breakdown, based on what I think an ideal 300 chip set for each table would be and then rounding out some of the amounts:
£.05 x 300
£.25 x 600
£1 x 750
£5 x 500
£25 x 250
£100 x 100
Total 2500 chips
Bank: £19,665
(The 300pc breakdown for each stake):
5NL set (3 tables)
£.05 x 100
£.25 x 100
£1 x 75
£5 x 25
Bank: £230
25NL set (3 tables)
£.25 x 100
£1 x 100
£5 x 75
£25 x 25
Bank: £1,125
100NL set (2 tables)
£1 x 100
£5 x 100
£25 x 75
£100 x 25
Bank: £4975
In practise it’s unlikely that we’d stick to these exact breakdowns per table, and I understand 300 chips isn’t too many for 9 players, but often there will be less than the full 8 tables running. We’re also used to playing on a less than perfect setup lol.
I wouldn’t be worried about bank for any of the smaller tables as long as we have plenty chips for the bigger games. 100 x £100 chips would be enough for the most degen of games
If there’s anything that seems wrong with my thinking on this breakdown advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any replies!
PS. as a side note we’re interested in Tina’s for this set. Does anybody know roughly how much it would cost to buy such a set from the UK? Our budget all in is around £2000 GBP. Do let me know if we’re way off with this
