Is TRK Popularity Waning Among New Chippers? (1 Viewer)

I wish I could get some TRK in my collection.

I've got samples and singles to get me by, and cling to the idea I might someday get lucky enough to get my hands on TRK.

Persistence, patience, determination and true love are what makes TRKs so great. If you are new to the world of chipping like I was not that long ago, there are literally no other chips that will require a combination of all these things and maybe a little luck as well to acquire.
I appreciate vintage and I like old school. Some things in life just don’t ever need any tweaking.

Not me. Yes, there are some REALLY nice ones out there. But I'm not prepared for the wallet hurt that chasing a playable set will entail.

Honestly, when I see pr0n like this, it makes me wonder...”why the hell do I own hybrids, plastics, or even Paulsons? TRKs are *THAT* much better....to me”.

For trade: Minty Paulsons for minty casino playable TRKs. Open to offers, 365/24/7.

You have any Reno Hilton Tourney, ACF Paulson Tourney or massive amounts of California Bells? I have a few sets of TRKs. :whistling:

Leaded TRK = Jane Fonda
Leaded Paulson = Gisele
New Paulson = Emily Ratajowski

Jeez but I just keep re-watching Jane Fonda in Barbarella.

It's the dumbest movie on Earth but who gives a damn?

Blows both Gisele and Emily R out of the water.....

During her time, sure. And she’s aged gracefully as have TRK. But you can have Fonda today, I’ll take the other two.

I think it’s largely a matter of demographics too. The average age of PCF has to be coming down with an influx of more millennials and even Gen Z.

Just compare a classic TRK set like the Riverside to a new Paulson like the ESPT. It’s no wonder the younger generation flocks to the ESPT. People are throwing down serious coin on nagb chips so I don’t think it’s strictly a price issue.
I guess this makes me a rare breed. I'd lay odds that I'm in the youngest 10(or even 5)% on PCF (I graduated college a year ago), but I think older chips are infinitely cooler and more collectible than most new chip sets. With the exception of PNYs, my holy grail for sentimental reasons, I think the older molds are much classier than a lot of new ones--my prized chips rn, though they are singles, are two HUB mold chips from Casino de Capri (the chip with the outline of Cuba not the gross oversized C) and Havana Riviera. Give me a HUB or H-mold chipset over most Paulsons any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Though you're right, TRKs are way too expensive lol
