Brand new at collecting and feel like the clay chips get kind of 'sticky' pretty fast. Is there an easy way of easily cleaning these that doesn't involve an ultrasonic cleaner but also doesn't have me cleaning individual chips by hand?

Not trying to be snarky (despite that being my natural state) but possibly see what is coming to your table with your players??

I've been hosting for ~15 years now using clay chips and I have not seen this happen in my games... with one exception. The night a player came in late with his bag of Jack in the Box and proceeded to eat at the table while playing. At the end of the night, the chips went back into the cage and on their shelf. The next game happened two weeks later and the night before, I opened the cage to pre-build starting stacks and the stench of rancid fast food out of that cage nearly knocked me over when I opened the cage.

I have since politely asked players to eat before coming to the game. If they have to eat while present, we just play around them while they eat away from the table and then enforce a "wash your damn hands" rule after. If any food happens, it's pretzels, nuts or cookies... things that generally don't leave a residue. I don't find 'sticky' chips across my sets, even after numerous games with those chips.

The 'hooker juice' we see on used casino chips is compacted funk from filthy players. As hosts, we have the benefit of enforcing a slightly different level of cleanliness than your typical casino or card room.

I had to ask, maybe your table topper or Poker table are dirty?

I vacuum my Poker table after every use and covered them up when not in use so they dont get covered by all the dust and dirts

Chips are dirty really easily if you play them on dirty surface in the first place

I have a ultrasonic now and I'd never look back. Best $75 ever spent on 6L on sale on Amazon. The results are great. I use dish soap, salt and 42 celcius water.
I clean all chips received from Casino type use or like the OP described that are sticky or smelly. My only rule is no food/drinks on the table but side tables are fine. Essentially spilled beer/etc on the table will ruin your chips for use after 1 or more times. I work in emergency healthcare so the smell of old sour booze is a trigger for me that I'd rather avoid above anything else.

After initial deep cleaning your chips can be put through the Ultrsonic (my 6L) for 20-30 seconds in batches of about 200 then rinsed off in the sink and dumped on a towel to dry. I would estimate between One and a hundred uses to get to that stage depending on what is served at the table.

Take breaks for meals as a group allowing everyone that need to go for a smoke etc and then return to the table with mostly just chips/pretzels etc and drinks on the side tables.
