How do you decide "what to wear"?


Why? Why not pick a favorite and stick with it?

Because "variety is the very spice of life"?

Some like to rotate their sets for their own home games, plus have 1 or 2 travelling sets. Some collections might be purely for display. Some are curated for eventual sale or trade so the cycle of life can continue.

Each set uses a different blind structure. In theory, different structures requires slightly different strategies. By having a visual clue, like different chips helps players remember that the structure is different. Otherwise each set fills a particular need.

• Zombie Hall of Fame (China Clay) - Similar to Foodies, but deeper stacked
• Zombie World Edition (RT Plastics/MSK Plaques) - Deep Stack, avg 79% increase each level
• Martini Lounge (43mm China Clay) - Antes
• Zombie Aviation Club (WPT Slugged relabels) - 2-3 players on the Airplane table
• Zombie Monte Carlo (ABS/Ceramics) - Slow structure at start, lots of low denom chips. Good for teaching beginners.
• Empress Star Secondary Tournament (Paulson) - Uses a structure taken directly from a from a casino.
• Matsui Zen (Matsui) - Heads up at home.

So why not have a different set each time, they only get played once or twice a year. Keep them clean and they will last forever!!

Your players will feel like they never see the same chips twice and you are the crazy, awesome chip guy that keeps them coming back! If you have players that appreciate awesome chips!

Now you guys that host weekly... well those are going to see a bit more use... 52/52 seems slightly less resonable but hey if you're winning at the tables the sky is the limit! Lol

I couldn't agree more Mr. @Poker Zombie! So many players get way to used to the same structure and when that gets changed, they find themselves out of their comfort zone. If you change a typical 10k starting stack to a T2k T5 based tourney, it seems to royally mess with their heads!

In my humble opinion, it keeps if fun to change it up! Obviously typically sticking with a standard 200BB/500BB structure but changing it up and keeping players on their toes, helps keep the game interesting!! I love it brother!!

I have to agree with @toothpic's response when he said: "The crew likes all of them as much as I do."

A vast majority of my regs aren't into chips and just enjoy playing cards, which I'm sure is the case for most home games. When I returned to hosting after the summer before recently hitting the pause button, however, a handful of the regs took a liking to some of my chips and started asked questions between hands. I even let them pick the set to put in play at the last game. One of the guys arrived almost a full hour before start time because he wanted to feel the Paulsons compared to my ceramic sets.

Granted, my chip collection isn't anywhere near the level as most PCFers. But I think it's neat when I can introduce the world to my crew and pique their curiosity.

I wanted to just edit my previous post in this thread, but was unable to do so. Since I've recently been suspended from all poker related purchases, figured this is a good time to tally up my stuff. Still all the same sets with a couple new additions and barrels. I started a few sets and the mission has been MOAR ever since.

For cash games, I have the following :

1. Empress Joliet (mixed THC) - 700ct

2. Empress Star (THC) - 860ct

3. TRK (mixed SmCrown) - 600ct

4. **Custom Relabel (RHC mixed re-label project with 320 chips in hand)**

For my Tournament games, I have the following :

1. Jack Detroit (RHC) - 1240ct

2. Aurora Star HS (THC) - 1100ct

3. CPC Rounders (stock CSQ) - 940ct

4. Paulson Pharaoh's (Chips mould) - 900ct

5. Custom Ceramics/Cards Mould - 1000ct (still in production phase)

I appreciate your criticism. They don't actually belong, so that's why you are seeing that "out of place" effect. Definitely things about this chip in this set tilt me a bit, but I also like it too. It also looks worst in photos than in person. The label also blends in nicely. I can however see and agree with your points.
