Flush
8 x .25c per player is enough
I like this idea! I’ll probably do it for my next game.+1
For .25/.50 (and buyins of $100) first five players get 20x fracs, 20x $1s, and 15x $5s. Remaining players get 20x $1s and 16x $5s. Change is made on the table.
The quarters will move around faster than you'd think as pots are scooped and change is made. 100x is usually plenty for a single table.
Honestly, this is a big part of it. Before people come I set out like 10-12 buy ins which should cover us for the night. Then when it is 11:00 and everyone is a few drinks in it is much easier to just grab a buy in of a set amount of chips. Each buy in is exactly the same.
What if I want to buy in for lesser amount?
I use 100 quarters.
The first five people to buy in get a stack of 20 quarters each. The next people to buy in don't get quarters with their buy-in.
I think that 100 is plenty quarters for the minimum number needed at a table. That said, I actually break out two full racks of quarters when I host a single table night. Everyone on their initial Buyin gets a single barrel of quarters, a single barrel of dollars, and the rest in five dollar chips. To me this is ridiculously simple to dish out on peoples first Buyins. All rebuys are accomplished by using red $5 chips, or $20 chips if it’s a bigger game.
I can’t understand what people would consider the downside to having 200 quarters on the table? It’s only a single barrel of quarters per player. In my game, it’s not uncommon to have someone with many many barrels of chips in front of them. A single barrel of quarters is nominal and doesn’t get in the way.
SO PRETTY! My favorite $5Some random chip stacks from several different recent games.. $.25/.50 All games involved each player getting issued a barrel of quarters.. and because, ya know.. chip porn..

I just don't understand all this 'just grab a barrel' talk. Certainly I'm not the only one that isplaying with my chippiesdiligently prepping buy-in stacks two days before game night.![]()
I prep my game usually at least 2 hours before. Two Days?!!!I just don't understand all this 'just grab a barrel' talk. Certainly I'm not the only one that isplaying with my chippiesdiligently prepping buy-in stacks two days before game night.![]()

Another vote for 120. That makes for 10 nice even buy-in stacks with 12 quarters. Makes my OCD purr just thinking about it.
100 makes my brain hurt with the 4 left over chips.![]()
