We play tournaments regularly but I'm thinking about hosting a .25, .50, dealers choice of NLHE or Omaha 8. We would have a minimum $50 buy in and have 6 to 8 players.

Thoughts?

One of the pineapple variants/NLHE/PLO/O8/SOHE(7 or less players) are the games that get thrown into our rotation

We routinely host a HOPE format game. This gives two No Limit games and two Pot Limit games.

NLHE
PLO
Crazy Pineapple
PLO8

We do .25/.50 with a 100 max buy in. It works great!!!

OK, since your compatriots are in joking mood / mode (except @detroitdad, probably one of the 2 or 3 most serious people on this forum :D ), I would recommend NLHE (2 rounds) PLO high (1 round) and Crazy Pineapple (1 round).
I would go as far as propagating my own renowned  :ROFLMAO: invention, the Tight Pinapple, which leaves you with 2 hole cards, both obligatory to use, after seeing the flop.

lol, I'm going to politely say "fuck two rounds of NLHE" lol. One round is already too much.

Actually, most of my group would prefer a HOES format

NLHE
PLO
PLO8
SOHE

Double board PLO every 30 minutes

My brain is too impeded by outgoing (imagine! not even incoming!) artillery fire for "08"
And I don't wanna know what SOHE is:p

Only one of the best games ever! Simultaneous Hold'em and Omaha

Your dealt six cards. Pre flop you must split them into two hands. A two card Hold'em hand and a 4 card PLO hand. Then you see a flop, turn, and river.

Its a great game!!!
If you just see 'em, I guess everything is gonna be alright :p
:)

2-7 No Limit Lowball, single draw.
It plays great as small as four-handed and with as many as 7.

When your opponents are routinely drawing two or three and you are drawing one, you know you are in the right game.
