I play in a card game at a private club in town from fall to early summer that goes through a new iteration every season or two.

It began as a $1/$1 cash game, dealer's choice PLO or NLHE, evolved to include $6/$12 fix limit. Ran strictly as $6/$12 FL for a short period before changing to $8/$16 FL.

Last year it changed again to $1/$2 dealer's choice PLO /NLHE or $10/$20 FL Hold-em or Omaha-hi. This year it kicked off as dealer's choice $5/$5 PLO or PLHE.

I am liking this format. Anyone else here have experience with pot-limit hold-em? Thoughts?

We do PLO along with pot Limit hold'em and pineapple variants. From a hosting perspective it's nice to not have to deal with rebuys - everyone buys in with what they're playing for the night (300 BBs on average). I like that it keeps the game friendlier and is better for the recs.

The biggest difference is that you are going to go multi-way more often than in NL because you can't 3 bet huge pre. Post flop, unless your group is used to doing a lot of over betting, not much will change. It may be harder to get all the money in post though since you can no longer over bet at any point. So there may be times it's better to go for unconventionally check raises to bloat the pot.

Yes, you will definitely see more flops and will need to leverage you edge post flop in a pot limit game. I would focus on not over committing with big potential hands pre, as you can kinda paint yourself into a corner in certain situations.
