Homemade Craps Table (2 Viewers)

Had some friends over to play, 5 players with just me dealing. I have a new respect for dice dealers. Table performed great, only 2 rolls bounced out in 4 hours. Had everyone play on one side. Dealer workspace felt a little cramped but I was standing right in the center, if I offset a bit I think it would work better. 2 dealers would work well with a full table, but I'm gonna need more chips to handle that I think. Bank almost ran out of 5s and 25s after a hot streak with everyone running come bets every roll. Great fun night!

When I ran a mock casino business I loved dealing craps but I was always exhausted at the end of the night. Poker on the other hand was the easiest but most boring.

Do you think the larger format dice would have less chance of bouncing out?
I think if the table was any longer I wouldn't want to use the foam under the layout since that makes it bouncy.

Damn straight Skippy !
Very nice table BTW. How big is it? Looks like a 1/2 table tub set up
8x4 foot playing surface, just over 9 feet long with the rail.

Not only exhausted but I felt so slow. I'm sure practice will help. The players said it didn't feel slow but they were all new to craps.

Threw the poker felt on to test it out, little bouncy with the foam underlayment but not as bad as I thought and no marks from the dice so it should hold up very well.

On my poker tables, I put a layer of headliner over the Volara… takes out the springboard effect.

How do you like the spacing of the layout? Not crowded or too much space for anything?

How do you feel about dont pass players at your table? Would I be welcomed?
Darksiders welcome :cool

I think the Don't Come box is too tall (was hard for corner player to reach the come box), and I think if the come and field were about a chip length taller each it'd be perfect. The ATS bets made the dealer workspace feel a little cramped, but when nobody had bets there it felt good. If I knew I could consistently have 2 dealers, I think the ideal setup would be to merge the Don't Come into the Don't pass (so all don't bets would travel, they do this in Wendover where I usually play) eliminate the C/E bubbles, and then have 2 point number boxes that would be narrower to fit side by side across the top. For a single dealer though I think the layout works very well, but I hope I never have to single deal to a full table! o_O

Have you ever played Poker Night 2 on Steam? your felt is giving me some serious vibes from that!

No but maybe I ought to check it out!

Awesome craps layout!

Edit: And now I've ordered my own custom layout with Tony. Thanks for the inspiration OP.

Nice, how did it turn out? (missed the edit about getting your own)

Best. Game. Ever.
I just tried to upload a pdf for you but I keep getting an error message. I guess that file type isn't supported anymore. However, I've uploaded it in the past and you can find it here.

@natumes Love, love love your table. I really dig the single dealer felt. Just curious, do you recall what the bank by denom was for the party of 5?

It's a lot of fun, especially at home when you're not losing to the casino. It looks intimidating when you first walk up, especially if there are serious gamblers throwing chips all over the table between every roll, but it's not very complicated. Learn the pass line with odds bet first - add the come bet, then add place bets, then all of the one roll/prop bets. Pass line with max odds is the leanest house edge at 1.41%, only beat out by blackjack, baccarat, and video poker.

My larger set is:

200 x $1
600 x $5
200 x $25
200 x $100
100 x $500
40 x $1000

I haven't needed more than 1 rack of $100 so far (or anything larger), I rarely need the second racks of $1 or $25. Average group size is 5 players, when it's larger I wish I had more $5s but we just color up to the $25s and go to 10x max odds to encourage more green chips in bets :D

I have a smaller set of 200/300/100/20 that works for smaller groups but always feel short on $5s. This was the set I used the first night and we had to regularly color up chips which slowed the game down a lot.

That's a good size bank! Yes, it's big fun doing this at home!

Didn't realize I hadn't posted the pics of the banks in this thread. 2 racks of $5s and 2 barrels of $1s are in racks for buy ins. The orange roulette chips in the Big Easy set were meant to be fracs for poker but I end up using them more as backup $5s.

Looking good. I wanted one years ago but had no place to put it. Decided on a shuffleboard table instead...

Wish I could play....

I can see 6 in the picture. PLUS, the camera man, maybe playing, that's a lot for a single man! Super awesome to see this action!
4 on each side, if you look at the pass line you'll see 8 bets. Nobody wanted their faces on the internet so she took just a table shot.
