Cash Game Home cash game help (1 Viewer)

Fewer denominations are better, especially in no limit when having to count stacks. Spacing denominations 4x-5x apart limits unnecessary extra denominations.

I would rather count a stack with 42 singles and 5 quarters, rather than 1 ten, 3 fives, 18 singles and 1 quarter. Both will total 43.25, but you will get the answer in the first stack faster than the second, even though the second stack is far fewer chips, is four denominations, meaning you have to sum four figures in your head instead of two. I am sure every here is smart enough to sum four figures, but if it's a question of ease, two is always easier.
Makes total sense! Thanks!

How big does the game play? How much money is on the table by the end of the night? Do you anticipate that the stakes will grow in time? That will help define the chips/bank you'll need. Also, what will the blinds be for the lower buy-in games? Do you have a limit on the size of the chipset?

100 5¢ or 10¢
100 25¢
200 $1
300 $5
100 $25

If you want to limit the size of the set, you could get a non-denom for the frac that can be interchanged as a 5¢/10¢ or 25¢ depending on the night.

As already noted, chips like $10 are not very popular - likely because in practice they're not that useful of a denom.

0.50 x 100
1 x 200
5 x 200
25 x 80
100 20

NL50 : blinds 0.50 - 0.50
NL100 : blinds 0.50 - 1

If you want to cover a lower buyin, I'd replace the 0.50 by 0.25
:
0.25 x 100
1 x 200
5 x 200
25 x 80
100 x 20

NL25 : blinds 0.25 - 0.25
NL50 : blinds 0.25 - 0.50
NL100 : blinds 1 - 1

Or I would add a rack of 0.10 :

0.10 x 100
0.50.x 100
1 x 200
5 x 200
25 x 180
100.x 20

NL10 : 0.10 - 0.10
NL20 : 0.10 - 0.20
NL50 : 0.50 - 0.50
NL100 : 0.50 - 1

We usually play 1-1 at my place (...or at least we used to.) :(
I rarely need more than 2 racks of $1s and 3 racks of $5s. But every now and then, people decide they hate money.
My main cash set is 1000 chips. I think the bank is over 20k.
Also...send me an invite once things get going again. Maybe I'll drive down.
