Sitting Out
Hi all! My first post.
I bought these "Holland Casino" ceramic chips from aliexpress. First time using aliexpress. I wanted to share my experience in case it helps anyone.
Product:
I am very happy with the brightness of the colors and sharpness of the print. I bought "laurel crown" ceramic chips from mrcpoker and "scroll" ceramic chips from StraightPokerSupplies here in Canada. I was disappointed with both. The majority of the chips seemed blurry and/or fadded. These "Holland" ceramic chips from jiesite seller look way, way better. I didn't know what to expect when I made the purchased and was concerned I may end up with another batch of blurry chips. So am happy to finally buy some ceramics that look as good in-person as they do in the pictures. I don't have any nice poker chips. Just a bunch of metal slugged chips and the ceramics I mentioned above. So take my opinion with a grain of salt
Shipping speed:
It took 16 days to ship to Canada.
Shipping cost:
DHL charged me an additional $32 CAD to deliver the package in addition to what I originally paid.
$10 CAD for duty+taxes and $22 CAD for DHL "processing" fees. I don't mind paying the $10 CAD duty+taxes to the government, but this extra $22 CAD hidden fee for DHL "processing" was a big surprise to me. I don't like that it wasn't included in the initial shipping cost. It felt like DHL was holding my package hostage so they could extort extra money.
I read up on it and it seems you can opt to "self-clear" the package to avoid paying the processing fee. But you have to show up to a Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) in person to self-clear. The closest one to me is over an hour away. It just wasn't worth the time and stress.
It would be nice if any additional shipping charges were included in the original shipping charge at the time of sale and not added on later at time of delivery.
But I'm writing this out so any potential Canadian buyers can be informed.

Anyway, thanks for listening!
