Picked up a mysterious package from the post office today...

What the heck is it? Another box?

It is!

Solid hotstamped Paulson chips!

202 light green, 306 purple, and 509 yellow chips for a total of 1017 chips.

Most seem to be in great condition, have sharp edges, and are in need of a good cleaning.

Big re-label project coming up but what to do? Cash or tourney? Decisions, decisions :

Nice chips bud I really like the purple. How much did you get them for? You got 3 of the four main colours for tourney chips, just need to pick up some blacks for 25/100/500/1000 progression. Though as-is you could do a high stakes tourney 1000/5000/25000 which would be cool.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing as far as tournament colors/high stakes tournaments go. Started to debate using 500 of them as a cash set because I already have a TMSC solid tourney set. I could always sell the rest. Not sure yet.

With shipping they ended up around 35 cents each. I ended up paying for shipping twice when I missed the first 3 UPS deliveries.

Very nice. Don't be locked in by color. If you are going to keep them as is, you can make any color whatever denom you like. If you are labeling them you can go $1 (green), $5 (yellow) and $20 (Purple) for a cali coloresque set. Or $.25/$1/$5...

I'm surprised that I got them as cheaply as I did. I'll post a few pics next week of some of the cleaned vs. dirty chips for comparison. Did about 10 of each color so far. They cleaned up nicely and very easily. Probably going with chipshippie's foil labels too.

Wow! That's impressive! I'm surprised you were able to get them that cheaply. Cleaning all of them sounds like quite a big job though. I'm sure you'll be able to find someone to help though...

Decided to stay in last night(Friday) to save some $$ so I started cleaning chips. Almost finished cleaning 100 of each color and will post a comparison pic when I do. So far the yellows were by far the easiest to clean with the edges on the green chips being the most stubborn. There's also some color variation in the purple chips with some looking to be more of a light lavender color. Not sure though bc I'm not well versed on the Paulson color palette. I've seen photos but don't feel like looking it up right now

Finally decided what to do with these bad boys. High stakes tourney set it is! I also have 200 orange chips on the way to be used like this:

Orange-T1000
Yellow-T5000
Green-T25,000
Purple-T100,000

For a 10 person STT, starting stacks of:

20-T1000
16-T5000
8-T25,000
6-T100,000

For starting stacks of T900,000 and a half rack of chips to start. Undecided if the first level will be 2000/4000 or 3000/6000 but I plan on using the basic structure from the Big One For One Drop tournament, including antes.

Used some old fashioned elbow grease and a tooth brush after an Oxyclean bath at first. Then I wised up and used a Magic Eraser and Oxy bath and it was 3x as fast.


Probably be a while before this project is finished, but when it is I'll have a 1300 chip STT set, Big One For One Drop style!
