When @Josh Kifer started stamping I knew I had to come up with something. Hotstamps have always been my favorites. My first paulsons were Isle Girardeau tournament solids, the first set I fell in love with was the AS tourney set, and my most recent acquisition is a set of Westworlds. To me, there's nothing quite as gorgeous as a hotstamped chip. Originally I was working on the next CPC design, with intentions of having Josh stamp them instead of going inlays. Cue the Sahara Dunes sale. What a perfect set to restamp I told myself. Then the ensuing paypal error that prevented me from getting a single chip from the sale. Devastation. Back to the CPC drawing board....
but wait! Josh has an auction for a bunch of SD $1s! They're filthy and possibly damaged, but I could get 2 racks out of all of that right? Wrong. They all cleaned up perfectly! Plus the stamps were already gone! Now to find suitable $5s. I really wanted the SD $5 but was having trouble shaking any loose. I got a few barrels, but nobody else seemed to have any for sale. Then that miracle PM comes through. 5 racks in the photo and at a fair price. I'll take em all I said. But wait, there's actually more. SHIP IT BABY! The bulk of my set is now assembled. I got to work on the design. I wanted to keep the theme with my poker table and CPC set, so I settled with RAGR poker with the AR bolt face logo covering the entire back side. Nothing too fancy to match the old school feel of the chips. After many many hours of cleaning and sorting, and a few other purchases to round out the set, I sent off the chips to Josh.
These were actually finished early February, but I wanted to wait until CoTS to do the big reveal in person. We had a great time playing with them for roughly 12 hours the first day! Josh also had a special addition for me, the brown $100 chip. As much as I love the purple fantasy chip colors, mint chips just don't fit well with the rest of the set. These brown boys are perfect! And now, what you're really here for, the photos:
Quarters coming soon!
