Hello, I'm Jon and new to this side of poker chips. I've been using dice chips but wanted to get a nice set. Any good advice for a set around 300 chips for less than $250?
I was looking at getting 100 of each of these:

The quality looks decent at best but I think they could make for a good starter set!

I saw these on apachepokerchips and I wanted some advice on if these while being used would be better than getting china clays. This would probably be the highest I would be willing to spend on a set of chips.
I thought about getting a rack of 1,5, and 25

Not sure if I should go for it or if I should just get some china clays

you can't beat majestics for lowest budget but still getting paulsons, but that breakdown is not even remotely efficient. what stakes do you play?

Welcome to PCF!

Some advice-

Build your chipset around your game. Typical breakdown for NLHE is 10/20/20/10 (or 10/20/20/8/2) chips per player. So for example, 100 $0.25, 200 $1, 200 $5, 80 $25, 20 $100 for 10 players at 0.25/0.50.

I would buy samples first to make sure you really want casino used chips. They take some elbow grease to get clean.

Don't know what games you are playing, but 300 chips is probably not enough for a full table. Figure a minimum of 50 chips per player, up to 100 chips a player if you have alot of rebuys or other factors. If you are always playing the same game, you can get away with 3 denoms, or 4 if you want more flexibility.

You probably want a minimum of 40 chips in a starting stack, so guys aren't having to make change etc if they lose 1 or 2 pots. I have found 50-60 chip starting stacks make the players open up a little bit when they are playing.

We don’t really play super high stakes so I think I could get better denominations but I’d probably just purchase more $1 in the future

this is a really good point. you may not realize just how USED these chips are. i played at the majestic back in the day :vomit:
Good point I think I’ll stick to the China clays
