Hi everyone,

I got into poker after watching Casino Royale and soon discovered a passion for poker chips. In the following two years I imported chips from Asia and the US to Germany and traded Desert Palms Pure Clay Chips with other collectors.

For my own collection I purchased a lot of samples Sets, a large original Blue Chip Company Desert Palms set and later a big Top Hat & Cane set with Plaques, which remain the highlights of my collection.

Here in Germany there isn’t much high-level exchange about poker chips, so I joined PCF to connect with other collectors, share interests and enjoy the amazing photos and collections here.

Glad to be part of the community!

Best regards,
GerChipCollector

Welcome!

You got pictures of your collection you can share?
Yes, sure! These are my THC – a big set that I really love. The plaques have such a nice touch and sound. I think most of you know THC well.
I bought them almost 20 years ago and have only admired them since :D
Out of around twenty sample sets I ordered back then, the THC were the most appealing choice for me. I also considered getting a custom set for a long time, but I didn’t have the money at the time and postponed the order – and then it was no longer possible to order through Apache :(
That’s also one of the reasons I joined here – I’d like to see if it’s still possible to have a high-quality clay custom set made.

These are my playing chips. As hard as it is, I’ve never played with the THC – I only admired them :)
For poker nights we use the Blue Chip Company Desert Palms. I think they’re amazing too and they give such a great feeling at the table.
You now them?

Do you have a favorite set or mold? Always interesting to hear what long-time collectors enjoy most.

Not yet, I’m new to the chip game, more of a long time bad poker player.

I haven’t seen those desert palms before, really cool design and colors. That WTHC setup looks awesome!

I have 3 separate ‘nice’ sets, and a couple of cheapo sets. I don’t have a preference yet, trying to rotate my different sets.

And a BG IPS limit set (not my pic):

GL and welcome again :)

These are insane! I love them. The colors of the Tigers are sick, and the IPS pick looks amazing!

Firstly: welcome!

Secondly: you own a set of Paulsons and you’ve never put it into play??

I’ve been wondering if anyone here still has experience with custom clay poker chips that can actually be ordered today.
Are there still companies or makers producing them at a really good level, or is that kind of quality basically gone nowadays?
I’m afraid nobody offers that anymore, but maybe I’m wrong.

Classic Poker Chips does.
The lead times are long, though. And they're in the middle of getting moved to a new location, so not open for new orders at the moment. Check their subforum here on PCF :)

Welcome!

You’d be surprised how many German chippers there are. Love your sets (fellow BCC lover here), but do yourself a favor and put em both in play!

As for custom chips, check out this database (it’s a mix of CPC and ceramic custom sets, as well as semi custom Paulsons, put together by PCFers):
