Guinness World Record WTF? (1 Viewer)

Would we classify that as a "collection" or as "inventory"?
I agree that is Spinettis business and wouldn't count...

My brother owned a comic book store for a while. It was a decent sized store with thousands of comic books. One day a customer asked "How big is your personal collection?". My brother replied, "You're looking at it".

I would argue that Spinettis would fall into the same category.

Last Week Tonight did a great price on Guinness World Records about how they don’t care how stupid the record is or how plausible it is that it couldn’t be beat since they get paid per submission. I’m sure you could do most chips laid out side by side, tallest column of chips, or scrubbiest scrub donkey if it can be measured  :ROFLMAO:

There’s actually a record for tallest stack of chips. Spoiler alert: it was dice chips.

I know I am late to the party on this thread but I just reactivated my account. Yes 802 is a small number but after reading some of the post I thought I would clarify a few things. Only a single chip from each casino counts and samples or home games chips do not count. They all have to be real live chips at some time. Are there other collectors who have larger collections the answer is of course. Will the record fall, yes it will and it is scheduled to be broken this fall in Vegas and I will try again next summer in Vegas to get it back.

Here is a link to the record I set. I only used US chips and didn’t even add cruise or other country.

The collection doesn't even have the new MGM Detroit $1, just the old one.

I wouldn't even term this record as impressive. Anyone can literally buy a new record... We're not talking houses or autombiles, were talking poker chips that can be had for a few bucks each. In fact, I'd be surprised if the guy holding the record hasn't already beat it, but doesn't want to pay a new fee... As soon as someone claims 803, he'll swoop in with 915...

...or with 804, and keep the others ready for the next one.

Yeah, it costs a lot. Last time I heard about a case, I remember it being around $10k or so. Ridiculous, in any case.

The guy should be stacking them outside the square area then put it in the middle once his hand is full ~20 or so. Much easier...

Are you pulling the Fosbury Flop of the poker chip stacking world????

Looking at the video, there's a lot of hand movement back and forth from the chip outside of the square area and the main stack. That's milliseconds lost compared to picking up the chips that are next to each other. Like when somebody wins a pot.

Only one chip per casino counts. I am the current record holder but I know someone who is attempting to break it next month.
