My understanding of the electronic shoe is that it simply reads a code on the back of each card to confirm that it is authentic. It's an anti-cheating device.I did too. But for a different reason. Wtf is an electronic shoe. I do think think I've ever seen one nor do I. I've long wondered about the use of any tech that can identify cards before their play.
Take for example this: (and this is no lie) while in Niagara falls at casino Niagara my buddy and I were sitting playing let it ride. After the cards were dealt the shuffler started blinking a red light. The dealer called over the manager who came over and took it apart. While this is going on I pick up my cards and have three of a kind. Needless to say I made a good bit of money on that. I was scared they were going to call the hand dead because the shuffler malfunctioned.
Now a few hours later at Fallsview and again, at a let it ride table the my buddy shows me his three of a kind.....and wouldn't you know it, the shuffler was flashing a red light again.....too odd to be a coincidence.
Regarding the red light on the shuffler, those things jam all the time. It's less believable that you and your buddy had trips in the same session.
