GPI gets bought out (1 Viewer)

GPIC board of directors under investigation (by a NY based securities law firm) for claims of violating securities laws/breaching fiduciary duty.

The sale isn’t final, the SEC could potentially reverse the sale, shareholders can vote against the merger, other firms or entities could submit a more attractive offer (private equity, taking the company private, etc)

It’s difficult to predict GPI’s future, but I doubt they return to the home market anytime soon if ever.

Nuisance lawsuit.

I wonder what the negotiations were like...

ANGEL: "Any other markets or revenue streams we need to be aware of?"

GPI: "There's this small group of lunatic chip collectors who made a cruise line and bought almost a half-million dollars of poker chips from us and they want 'a lota moar chipes."

ANGEL: "Where do we sign?"

FYP

Not this. The article stated they already have 51%+ of their stock committed to the merger.

“Gaming Partners and Angel say that they are expecting the acquisition deal to close sometime during 2019. It will need to get approval from shareholders, regulators and complete customary closing conditions first.”

Nearly 70% of the stock is owned by insiders whom I’m certain voted for the merger,

27% of the company’s equity is floating stock, it isn’t unrealistic to see shares bought up and the 51% approval go the other direction

Uhhh... yea. It's in the first paragraph:

GPIC stockholders holding approximately 51% of the outstanding shares have signed a voting agreement to vote "for" the transaction.

Dream scenario:

1. GPI gets bought out.
2. Buyer begins offering to the home market.
3. We get the BCC/Paulson/TRK color palettes.
4. Suits mold comes back.
5. TFP mold can be used again.
Help me out. What’s the TFP mold?

I read the article, which mentioned "Angel Eye Electronic Shoes." I momentarily WTF'd before I realized they were talking about card shoes and not the kind of shoes you wear on your feet.

In for $20 if we're doing a GoFundMe to beat the current bid.
I did too. But for a different reason. Wtf is an electronic shoe. I do think think I've ever seen one nor do I. I've long wondered about the use of any tech that can identify cards before their play.
Take for example this: (and this is no lie) while in Niagara falls at casino Niagara my buddy and I were sitting playing let it ride. After the cards were dealt the shuffler started blinking a red light. The dealer called over the manager who came over and took it apart. While this is going on I pick up my cards and have three of a kind. Needless to say I made a good bit of money on that. I was scared they were going to call the hand dead because the shuffler malfunctioned.
Now a few hours later at Fallsview and again, at a let it ride table the my buddy shows me his three of a kind.....and wouldn't you know it, the shuffler was flashing a red light again.....too odd to be a coincidence.

I'll take the under, across the board - except maybe #1, because the unexpected ramp-up is the best offer GPI will ever get.

In side news, has anyone heard of "Angel Holdings Godo Kaisha", which sounds like 4 random words selected out of a English-Japanese dictionary?

If you've been around here awhile, you already know that the one constant in the casino chip industry is change.

Angel sells to casinos worldwide, but they're already selling in the retail market, too.

My questions are, in order:

Will they take orders for casino chips from people like us?
What will they do with GPI's playing card business? (I believe GPI bought Gemaco some time back, and made cards like Superflex and the Gemback casino cards unavailable to anyone but licensed casinos. )

Whatever happens (or doesn't), it will be interesting to watch.
