Correct. That’s what I attempted to imply later in the text.Make sure you are looking at the loft of your current irons vs. the loft of new irons. Your 7i may be going 15 yards further now but it has the same loft as your previous 6 iron.

Yes, I found this to be the case when I tested clubs last winter. However, even though my new 7 iron had 15+ yards more carry than my old one (due to stronger loft) the shot tracker stats said it still has a steeper descent angle. So it flies the distance of a 6 iron, but lands like an 8 iron. Win-Win!Correct. That’s what I attempted to imply later in the text.
I love my Mizuno's. I want to get fitted for a set one day but by the time I'll be able to afford it I won't need it anymore. hahaYes, I found this to be the case when I tested clubs last winter. BTW, the T-350 was my second choice. I ended up going with Mizuno JPX925 hot metals.

Nothing. The Mizuno's were just a bit longer and a bit more accurate for me. They were also a little less expensive, but that was not a factor in the decision. What didn’t you like about the T-350’s?
Currently using T-350’s and love them. What didn’t you like about the T-350’s?
I should also add that I've wanted a set of Mizunos for many years, so I may have had a predisposition to like them. Of course, what I really wanted was one of their beautiful forged sets, but unfortunately I just don't have a good enough swing to make them work for me. I no longer have the desire to work the ball. I just want it to go long and straight and these game improvement JPXs do that for me.Nothing. The Mizuno's were just a bit longer and a bit more accurate for me. This is kind of where I am with everything. I'm just looking for more consistent ball striking, and I'm not getting that from the P790s. Also the shaft weight is driving me crazy! I like a shaft around 100 to 105G. This shaft is significantly heavier and I can feel the difference.I should also add that I've wanted a set of Mizunos for many years, so I may have had a predisposition to like them. When I first started my research, I really thought I wanted the P790s. But as as soon as I hit them, and then hit the TM Qis, I knew that players clubs were probably out of the question for me.This is kind of where I am with everything. This is exactly how my golf pro explained the bump and run to me. It’s just a putt with a lofted club.Practice for those 7, 8, and 9 iron pitch and run 5-10 yards off the green. I treat them like a putt and contact and touch is everything.
It was one-handed so I could film it but you get the idea. The ceramics can handle the work.

I’m feeling you! I recently brought in Cleveland Zipcore XL irons 4-PW and all of what you mentioned astonished me as well; added distance, not penal for poor contact, easy to swing, and light. I was amazed at how light these were compared to my old irons and that difference was not in the shafts but the iron itself. Congrats!First! Fall Golf is among us! I can’t wait to play on high 60s low 70’s mornings! I’m super excited for this.
Now, for the 430s! These things feel amazing! I switched from a 120 gram shaft (which felt really heavy) to a 105G shaft and it feel incredible. However, it did lead to a lot of open faced shots. We will get that corrected though.
Now, there’s some confidence building here, but it’s mostly a facade. Case in point, with this set, I’m hitting my 8i approximately 161. Incredible, right? Not really, the G430 specs are really just bent really strong so my 8i is really just my P790 7i specs. Looking down and seeing an 8 stamped on the club does give a slight confidence boost though.
The biggest benefit of this club to me is its forgiveness. My God these clubs feel impossible to mishit (from a distance perspective). It feels like little to no distance penalty for a mishit. It’s pretty awesome.
Overall, I like these clubs. I’d prefer a little more feedback off the face, but where my game is currently, I’d prefer a bit more forgiveness so I’ll live it. Easily an 9.2/10 so far with these clubs.
Pros:
Easy to hit
Confidence boosting distances
Major Forgiveness
Smaller distance penalty on mishits
Cons:
Muted sound
Limited Feedback
Wedge Gapping (My PW is 41° and my UW is 50°) - I’ll probably add a 46° in here after more yardage testing.
Remind me, are you near the Twin cities, or further north? I need to get up there for a visit with my HS best friend, and we will def be playing some golf. Not sure which courses he normally plays. We had some very autumnal weather up here in MN and it was nice. I was the only player in our Saturday group that dressed accordingly though.
Fore!

Congrats!!!I finally did it! Over 50 years of playing golf and I finally broke 80 for the first time on a legit course. Rating 70.5, slope 123. 6168 yards.
Started out on the back nine and double bogeyed 3 of the first four holes. Then went two over par for the rest of the round.
There is some construction on the course, and hole #1 actually plays as a 370 yard par 4, so that's a bogey that looks like a par on the scorecard.
Drained a 40 footer for birdie on #14.
Biggest scare was on the 2nd to last hole (#8) Let my drive leak a bit to the right and into some tall grass next to some bushes. Was only able to take about a 3 foot backswing, but got the face of my hybrid on the ball and punched it back out into the fairway. Luckily it's a par 5, so I hit a nice 3 wood to within 50 yards and stuck a wedge two feet from the hole. Easy two putt par on the last hole. Just barely missed the birdie.

It’s not the length that counts…It’s how you use it.Out of curiosity, what driver shaft length do you all swing with?
