Hi All,
I have been gambling since I was a kid, breathing in the cigarette smoke and the beer fumes emanating through my uncle's and dad's pores. I remember the smell of pennies, nickels, and dimes lingering on my fingertips. I am at mid-life now, so you would think playing for that long would make you good, but I also played baseball for 9 years, and well, now I'm an engineer :). If I am good at anything it is enjoying the possibilities of the gamble, knowing when to walk away, and....sweating - I'm good at sweating.

I met some cool dudes at a home game recently, and it has reignited my interest in owning a proper set of poker chips. I hope this forum will be able to provide. Looking forward to the hang.

Glad you finally got your first post!
Welcome!

There’s a number of Houston guys on the forum, including @MrCatPants @Rieguy @TX_Golf_N_Poker, and others.

They all suck to varying degrees, but they’re on here. :)
Did you not read in his message? He said he met some cool dudes at a home game! He was referring to US! :ROFLMAO:  :ROFLMAO:  :ROFLMAO:

Clearly, he was just being nice.

Welcome to PCF! You can writer to your list of things you have a talent for. I enjoyed your very descriptive and visceral introduction. I could practically smell the coins on my hands. 😎

Machu Picchu, nice.

Welcome. I recently moved back to the People Democratic Republic of Canuckistan from a place just down the road from you: Port Arthur

Hello and welcome from another Houston area guy.

Welcome! I too am in this lovely swamp called Houston!

yup, running through my blood. We actually just took a family trip there earlier this year. 10 group size with ages from 88 to 8 - it was a great trip.

That’s awesome. I’d love to go. Got a photo hanging in the bedroom. Such a cool place.

Was there anything surprising or particularly interesting being there in person?

This was my second time going, and I am a structural engineer, so impossible structures built on mountaintops will always do it for me :).

Being Peruvian also carries weight in pride when there. It's a beautiful place, and I am sure everyone gets something different out of the experience. For me, I enjoy imagining I am walking in the very footsteps of Atahuallpa, much like when we visited the Pantheon and occupied the same space as Julius Caesar, I just enjoy being amidst ruins that once were graced by prominent historical figures.

I was also on the lookout for any building that looked like it could have been a casino, because there is no way the Incas did not gamble ;).

Any progress in finding a set? There have been some interesting ones posted recently.

No progress as of yet. I tried posting a question in "poker chip general" but I guess I did something wrong because the post was removed. Still trying to figure all of this out.
