Saw a poll where everyone voted Fournier as the most popular poker cards so finally had to try them and i dont know if i could have liked them any less than i do lol. Felt like plastic coated cards to me so Hated the feel and the look of them and so did everyone at my game… i dont get it. ‍♂️
Faded spade is by far my favorite cards

Which ones did you try?

It's cool if you like more textured cards. I don't really like really smooth, almost glossy textures either, but Fournier is far from that in my experience.

I grabbed a golden WPT deck off eBay. They were over textured imo. The edges are what felt like paper bicycle cards to me. Copags are too slick for me. Faded spade is the perfect mix for me

Ah, I see, I think I misunderstood the OP. Try their EPT decks that was on a group buy a few months ago. Definitely not overly textured like what you're describing.

Though their stock is universal in their offerings according to most here, I'm not sold. The stock on their 2800 Titanium line is more textured than the 2818/EPT stock which is much smoother. The flex and thickness may be the same but the finish is different, and that's something I stand by.

Also, where on eBay did you buy these decks? I saw a couple of posts warning of potentially fake Fournier cards circulating on eBay?

@TheRealTeddyKGB maybe?

I have WSOP, EPT (older and newer), WPT, and titanium decks from Fournier. I'll see if I can take some closeups of each. But everyone's tastes are different.

Mine are the golden ones also bought off eBay years ago. @xdukeluvax if you have a setup I'll take them off you for what you paid as long as they're like new/clean.

Couldn’t agree more! Don’t know what all the fuss over Fournier is about

That eBay seller screwed me on my set. They sent me two blue decks and one was in a red box!

I'll buy the red deck from you. But if you don't want the blue and can't sell it to anyone, I'll buy that one too.

Just let me know. Sent you a PM.

I e yet to try Desjgn cards but want to. But right now I have too many setups already.

Too many chips…never!
Too many card setups - yeah..

Sorry all.

To each their own. I would take Fournier over Faded Spade any day of any week. Fournier bridge size is peak, but poker is still very nice imo. Shuffle well, aren't too stiff, and have nice designs like EPT.

That would figure, the good news is that once Faded Spade goes out of business you can still just paint some 2x4s from Home Depot if you need to sub in a card.
You can actually use them to file down any rough spots on your fingernails if you are in between your mani-pedi appointments.

No idea on Fournier EPT decks but WSOP 2012 decks and 2525 (bridge size) are one of the best cards ever made. Dont like Fournier grafics so Fournier plastic stock with Bicycle graphics sems to me as perfect combination.
Wild guess but maybe its matter of size. Same material may seem more flexy on wider cards.
Having said that 2012 WSOP decks would be perfect ......if only made with jumbo indexes.

PS.
I played Titanium line and they felt more fleemsy, I would say they are bit different stock.

Finally got a chance to do this tonight.

The players
WSOP "Breakout", EPT v1, EPT v2, WPT, Titanium. All are coded as 2818. The Titanium have thinner pips, though.

The reds are "security" red (darker) for the EPT v1 and Titanium line

The are all within 1 card thickness. I think the WPT cards might be slightly thicker.

My phone won't focus up close, so getting a good picture of the texture on the cards was not possible. Based on a feel of the cards with my thumb while holding the deck in my hand, the WSOP, EPT v1, and WPT cards are noticeably "grittier" than the EPT v2 and Titanium cards.

Edit: This is a closeup of the face for the EPT v2 (left) and WPT (right) cards if I zoom in on the picture above. Note that the face of the EPT v2 cards feels a bit more textured to me than the backs. I'll see if I can take a similar picture of the back of the cards.

Edit #2: pics of the texture on the back of the EPT v2 (left) and WPT (right) cards.

Not surprisingly, the EPT v2 and Titanium cards are newer stock. I suspect Fournier modified their stock in the past 1-2 years. I personally prefer the grittier cards with the brighter red, so the WSOP and WPT cards will see more table time. I didn't notice any difference in the flex when shuffling. Overall, If you prefer a less textured card, the newer EPTs may be the better card for you if you wish to try Fournier. But they may still be more textured than you like.

I left my 2826 cards and my bridge-sized WSOP cards (Bicycle branded) out of the comparison as the card size may have played a factor in feel.

Just my $0.02.

Where did you find the WSOP Breakout cards? I’ve never seen those.
Me likes!
They are my favourite cards, bar none. I think I got them originally from Caragails, then from eBay and then from another member here as part of a trade. Had I seen the last sale (@JMC9389 beat me to the Fournier's in that sale...stupid work committments), I would have tried to get those as well. As you may have gathered, I do like Fournier cards.

Agree 100%! Love the 2012 WSOP and have some EPT on order. Hoping they come close!

I was wondering what the hoopla over Fournier was too and got in on a group buy for 2826 Bridge (the buy went bust but I still got some decks out of it). I have to say I am very impressed. I wish there were some other back colors, being a big fan of the KEM casino style Green/Brown, but outside of that minor quibble I really like how they handle. Obviously YMMV

Initially after buying a Fournier setup and remembering liking it, I dug it out at one of my home games. My players are super laid back and have played with my several sets of chips and SEVERAL setups of cards (Copag, FS, Desjgn, Kem, etc.) and have never expressed a care, preference or dislike for anything. But the Fournier was the first and only thing everyone complained about and I didn't even like them nearly as much as I had recalled, lol.
