In your scenario I agree that all who picked France should split the money. What I meant was if France and Spain are knocked out in the semis by Sweden and Denmark. Does everyone who picked France and Spain win? Or do you draw team?

It could even be more extreme: France, Spain, Germany and Italy are all knocked out in the quarterfinals by teams nobody picked.

One way to solve it is that whichever team that lost to the eventual winner is declared the winner. For e.g. in the last scenario: If Germany lost to Sweden in the quarterfinals and Sweden wins it all, then those who picked Germany wins.

I've just checked and it would seem as though they don't have a third-place playoff at the Euros — so I get what you're saying now, for sure.

I like your suggestion of paying the team who lost to the eventual winners, so let's go with that!

Oddly enough, best case scenario for me now would actually an Italy vs Denmark final with Denmark winning: $150 from this sweepstake for Italy + $110 from covering Denmark!
