I am currently torn between these 2 options, I have seen some really good looking set with both. I guess it depens on the other denominations for the set and how well the colors match up.

I prefer the look of blue $1s over the look of white $1s on their own, however, I like white $1s in a Vegas colored set, for best contrast between denominations.

I've seen $1 chips that were colors other than blue or white as well. I prefer white because that's what is used commonly near where I live, such as Mississippi casinos. All the players at the games I attend are also accustomed to white, so that's what I use when building a set.

This has been discussed quite a bit before. If you want a lot of instant feedback, use the search button (magnifying glass thingy) top right.

My take:
Both can look good, but $1 chips get into play a lot & white chips get grungy easily. For me, it's blue every time and it isn't even close

Mostly blue. I have the hsi secs which I like. Plain white is a no go for 1s. My first love is the carnival solid blue 1s. It's where I started gambling. :)

Depends on the rest of your lineup… but for me, I did blue for my Fat Tire cash set

Everywhere that I go, $1 chips are white. So I say white.

Yeah I've been there. But I don't hang out there.
And maybe somebody has a count, but I'd bet that the majority of Vegas $1s are white.

Just did a very quick check and of the 28 strip casinos I could remember, I counted 17 Blue, 10 White, 1 Tan (or whatever we're calling the Tropicana).

Might be missing some and/or using bad or outdated info but it seems in the ballpark based on recent visits.

If new mint chip, I prefer White chip

If used old chip, I prefer Blue chip
I buy chips to retire chips, 1s that are white will be handled significantly more than any other chip, 1s will get a lot of play, out of the two, blue all day

My two cents as i have had both.
Definetly blue.
The white ones just get way to dirty way to quick.
Even if I think they look nicer when they are clean, they did never stay clean for long in any of my games. So do with that what you want. I´d personally prefere using a white chip as something that isn´t needed as frequently.
