FANTASTIC!!

Haven't posted at all in the off-topic forum, but I was browsing before bed tonight and found this thread.

I had a second date with someone tonight, and I decided to host/make dinner at my place, because we're in the middle of a heatwave, and Los Angeles still only allows patio / outdoor seating in restaurants. It was about 98 degrees tonight.

I've been a serious amateur sushi chef for almost 15 years, and I think I outdid myself tonight, even if I have to say so. She LOVED it. 3rd date secured. :)

So we could sit and talk, I prepared a traditional serving platter with four types of nigiri, and a finisher.

- Hotategai (sea scallop) with sea salt, truffle oil and lemon juice, topped with spring onions and a tomato chili paste
- Otoro (fatty tuna belly) with truffle soy
- Magurozuke (lean Akami) with hidden garlic chip and truffle soy
- Japanese Tai (sea bream) with yuzu pepper

I also made Tamago for a slightly sweet finish, which I find incredibly difficult, and while it wasn't perfect (you'll see some cracks in the body), it tasted great.

All in all, a good meal!
