Custom Tournament Set Chip Quantities - Help (1 Viewer)

Hello, I'm looking for some help regarding quantities of chips to order for a custom tournament set.

We play T10,000 stack tournaments, with generally ~18 players, however I would like this set to be able to accommodate up to 36 players if necessary.

With denom's of 25, 100, 500, 1000, 5000, how many of each denomination should I order to make this work?

I was trying to fit this into a 1000 piece set.

Well, ideal starting stacks are 12/12/5/6. So do the math for your desired players. In a pinch, starting stacks can be 8/8/6/6.

You are going to need to stretch to handle 4 tables with 1000. 1100/1200 opens it up as you can see below. You need a minimum 8 each per player of the 25/100 as Mr. Honda said. I personally would rather do a couple less 500s, 8/8/4/7.

So for 36 players just the starting stacks:
288x 25
288x 100
144x 500
252x 1000

And color ups:
36x 1000 (for 25/100)
20-30x 5000 (for 500 and 1000 as needed)

If you plan on doing rebuys, you'll want 2x 5000 chips for those as well.

Rounding up, that's
300x 25
300x 100
150x 500
300x 1000
100x 5000
=1,150 chips total for 36 players and 10k start stacks.

If you're dead set on 1000 chips only:
Can handle up to 31 players:
250x 25
250x 100
150x 500
250x 1000
100x 5000

You might be able to do less high denoms w 12k stacks and use a 5k chip in the start stack. Start stack of 8/8/2/5/1.

300x 100
100x 500
200x 1000
100x 5000

Build the set for 40 players, 1200 chips. 8/8/4/7, T10,000 with (basically) unlimited rebuys:

T25 x 320
T100 x 320
T500 x 160
T1000 x 300
T5000 x 80
T25K x 20

That’s what I did, and it is awesome.

My recommendation is a little bigger than goph's; however, it allows for a very deep stack tourney option + you can sell half the set and it is still playable. A 1,440 chip set of 320/320/200/300/200/100 is what I believe is the ideal breakdown, and is what I target for sets that I plan to keep forever.

Typical two table use with T25k starting stacks (or larger):

Stretching the set to 40 players isn't a problem, even up to T50k starting stacks (or larger):

This breakdown also allows you to do an end-of-year high stakes tournament, with T200k starting stacks for 25 people:

And lastly, a half set is still quite playable for two table use up to T50k starting stacks
