Has there ever been a community member that likes to design sets and inlays that’s made a design available to everyone at CPC?

Not a commissioned CPC stock set but a PCF community stock set could help point new members wanting a niche design with ability to expand, buy and sell MOAR on the marketplace.

Easy for me to say as a non designer but I thought maybe the creative type that went down this chipping rabbit hole would have designed hundreds of set and inlay ideas.
It was talked about that there would be a contest sanctioned by CPC with a prize to the winner. It may still happen as they get up and running, but @Cratty 's Jolly Roger inlay would be my nomination.

I believe whoever purchased his original set should have exclusive rights to add on, but maybe secondaries can be designed as a stock option?

@Rieguy and myself considered doing something like this in the past. Similar to past bcc sets like Capital room. Was in talks with David to even potentially get a small price cut for a large quantity group buy. Not long after, the selling of CPC started though so it never happened.

As we saw with auction, the set would really need to be fairly simple as not many are willing to pay even close to the actual cost of a complex “stock” set.

I Dare You Do It GIF

I'd love to see something replace the Chesterfield and Eagle, think those are very tired. Rounders and Atlantic are classics though that fit a stock set needs.

Don’t we already have that with that one nice guy who runs a faux casino with cpcs?

And there’s rounders and such.

I’m beyond amazed that stock cpc ever sell, who wants to spend 2/3/4 a chip on non Paulson clay that instantly lose value on purchase that aren’t customs and hit classified regularly? But then again, we distorted market so badly, it might time to go all in on cpc.

You already have huge lighthouse leaders like your jeeps claiming cpc is chipping endgame. All you need is a couple more dominoes to fall, an uptick in public posts pushing that idea, some limited # cpc stock runs by pcfs top designers, and all of a sudden you’re likely to see people selling Paulson clay to get in on quarterly/biannual cpc releases.

It’s entertaining to watch from the sidelines.

Fun idea in theory, but highly unlikely. Too greatly limited to the most basic of patterns, inlays, and maybe even colors to keep cost down to be feasible for a group buy. Once the $ per chip climbs no one in their right mind would do it. That’s the one of a kind customs end game appeal zone like you stated. Unless they maybe got a Paulson style yellow to sway the uncultured.

I do think a group buy or 3 of a well designed simple set would be fun and do well though. Would make for future fun as well as the potential for adding on and trading would actually exist for CPC.

And of course this all only works if CPC still honors IP.

Yeah I guess inlay design on CPC carries more weight as the colours are not as strong, and keeping spots basic to keep costs affordable would be a delicate balancing game.

ive noticed people selling cpc sets having odd amouts of extras, do orders typically come with extras or are people ordering extras just to have spares?
Well my set was from the previous owner Jim. I ordered odd #'s (3 extra of each denom) of all my chips...like 123x- $0.25 chips and would end up with a few more of each. i wanted extras for any potential attrition over the years. My quarters were solids and ths others all with edge spots and I got multiple extras with edgespots. One chip my black and yellow $100 came with about 16 or so extras...the extra chips were assuming initial presses as some of the edge spots are out of alignment and the size slightly different. I mixed then in long ago and can occasionally pick a "draft press chip" chip but as 1 odd chip in a stack they make no difference. A few chips came with just a couple of extras others like my 100, so many.

In future knowing this now...id have just ordered 1 extra per chip.

I emailed a new order for Key West Resort & Casino chips to Mike at Classic Poker Chips this morning.

Wishing everyone at Classic and here the best while we wait for some great new chips.

Anticipating the rollout of lots of new chips from Classic, I also sent an order in for a large haul of 67.7 mm acrylic racks with my contact in Las Vegas.
