ive noticed people selling cpc sets having odd amouts of extras, do orders typically come with extras or are people ordering extras just to have spares?
Back when I ordered my own sets 6+ years ago at least, extras were not a guarantee and the numbers you get would vary wildly. It seemed to me they don't do these as a complimentary backup stash of chips in case one in your actual set breaks or goes missing, but just gift the surplus of non-rejects during production they didn't expect. I assume they know their scrap rates based on experience so they'll prepare more blanks than ordered, and yet there is some variation in the outcome.

I did always specifically order and pay for extras of each denomination, the number scaling with the amount of respective chips in the actual set while also factoring in how often a given denomination will likely hit the table and how much handling it will see (workhorse = more extras). Relying just on free extras would not have done the job for me to feel safe that my sets will stay "complete" for life.

So all these people receiving (confirmed) orders are just not posting actual pics of their orders to what, troll us all. Pics or it didn't happen.

And it was promised that all the outstanding orders would be produced before new orders were taken, so that's not happening either.

With 60+ orders to go, PCF users likely make up a small percentage of orders (even in Maine we didn’t get reveal threads all that often, or mail showcases of add-ons). Plus yes, there are some folks that don’t post publicly as often or choose to not post. But if you or others need to see photos, get it and that’s OK. I’m fine personally trusting confirmations from others.

And orders are being taken to get supply/materials ready and scheduling balanced, but no new orders will be produced until existing orders have finished.

I got the same mass email with the same promises (again)......

I have tried to remain faithful that all is well, I want the new CPC to succeed (we don't need to lose another chip option), I just want someone to prove it.

But the fishy smell is getting stronger as days, weeks, months go by.......

Tell me you’re not in tune with what’s going on without telling me you’re not in tune.

In case people missed it, it’s a marketplace not a community. About 18-24 months ago, chip reveals started disappearing. Customs, relabels, etc. Both in regards to individual reveal threads and mail pr0n.

I only noticed as I collect custom samples and started seeing tons of customs in home game photos, backgrounds of pictures, and via pm privately offered samples by owners.

Membership climbs, yet CPC voting and similar has gathered zero traction despite best efforts by members leading those.

I know several people and designers who despise the amount of PMs they receive both from established members and brand new members asking to copy something using Tina, asking if they can just copy design/piggyback on CPC order, etc.

There’s a litany of reasons CPC deliveries haven’t been shown, but it’s absolutely and without question not some new development.

Edit - Totally fair to remain dubious regarding CPC capabilities, but I wouldn’t question people receiving produced sets, especially when being reported back by some of the most and last hobby centric member(s) left.

I'm with you on most points. It's sad that I'm in the minority and can't wait to oil my new CPC's and stage nice photos. I noticed a lot of people are going the sneaky soft reveal route and posting in the home game thread instead of having a dedicated showcase thread.

Much of this has to do with CPC not being open, sure. But there also aren't as many new relabeled sets either with the exception of @pocketJs banger and @Jers28 Tiger/NAGB relabels. New NAGB's from Jim hitting the forums. Not as many other high end chips changing hands overall because of a multitude of factors.

I think we'll see more in the next 6 to 12 months, but it's going to be a while.

I would've shared new/added N&M pron if any of you HHR f*cks let me do a tiny add-on when I politely asked in May 2025.
If anyone is ordering an HHR set in the next run and is willing to let me piggyback a 70 chip add-on, I'd appreciate it. I thought I was being responsible/efficient with my breakdown/set, but the "MOAR CHIPS YOU DUMBASS" part of my brain proved that wrong.
So yeah, refer to bottom text on left chip...

...at least it's pron, right?

I would love to see pics but what I’m more interested in is verification of quality. Are they happy with how chips came out in the end? Are there any issues with quality control, colors, inlays, etc. I get that people may not want to post pics right away but a simple - yeah they came out great, nothing to worry about / or a hmm not sure what happened but they look and feel like dog crap and seems like they don’t have their process figured out.

I’m assuming you’re aware of positive attributes otherwise you wouldn’t be jumping on a new order yourself.

Have not seen, but verification of quality is not a concern for me. I ordered 50x extra of each denom, but also just trust that they will turn out fine. The process itself to make these chips seems like it’s been pretty tested over the past 100 years, so not all that concerned. Employees from Maine relocated to Woodinville to help with operations which is a comforting point. IMO I’d be more concerned if he was already experimenting with new tools, machines, colors, spots.

If I’m wrong, so be it - but there are also 60 orders in queue with folks that arguably have higher trust than me even given they won’t be able to see results before they receive. I at least benefit from those learnings if there are any.

So no, really zero concern from my end, but maybe I’m just a wishful thinker!

I'm really not worried about if people are keeping their stuff quiet/not showing for whatever reasons. I'm only interested in my unfulfilled order and the fact that CPC is radio silent other than the same "we're up and running, it'll be a while, trust us but don't ask us any questions, etc..." emails ever month or so, but no details about our particular orders. Highly frustrating.... :confused

I get the feeling that when/if they show up it'll be a surprise package with no notification sitting for a few days in the hot summer sun because nobody had any idea it was coming and they are gone on vacation or out for a few days.

Can any of the people that "have" received an order from Washington tell us if they've gotten a shipping notification (at least they don't have to share super secret pictures)??? :ninja:

Sounds like extras may not be the standard anymore
Hard to tell when no new orders have left the factory
They have.
I don't think anyone here has received a set since the move. We just don't know until folks start posting their new CPC Washington deliveries. Until then, it's all speculation.

I can say with 100% certainty I have seen a new DSQ chip from a friend that was delivered this past Saturday (which arrived unannounced). It was a small order. They still have a full different set on the same mold pending. I'm obviously not at liberty to share their stuff, but it does seem something has at least gone out and is a good sign things are trending in the right direction.
So basically, this was a small order as a bonus chip add-on to go with an existing set. No shipping/tracking sent. No extra chips received. Maybe it will be different for a larger order. The jury is out for now. Hopefully we'll get an update from someone who receives a more full set shortly.

I was also wrong in that the other set they ordered was the same mold. It's not, so hopefully anyone w/ a DSQ order pending will be able to update us sooner than later. Or Mike himself

If there is one thing that the new CPC owner needs to change, it's making sure that shipping notifications are sent out ahead of time. Packages with thousands of dollars worth of heat-sensitive chips should never be delivered without any notice.

I did get a response to my inquiry about making sure no chips ship while I'm away. Mike said he's gotten dozens of similar emails. Which I get, but I still think there's an elemental misunderstanding of how fanatical a lot of us are.

Other people worry about watering our plants and feeding pets while away on vacation. We worry about surprise chip deliveries while we're away. No kidding we're concerned about our four figure (or more) investment being left out on our porch ripe for theft and warping in the summer sun.

Has there ever been a community member that likes to design sets and inlays that’s made a design available to everyone at CPC?

Not a commissioned CPC stock set but a PCF community stock set could help point new members wanting a niche design with ability to expand, buy and sell MOAR on the marketplace.

Easy for me to say as a non designer but I thought maybe the creative type that went down this chipping rabbit hole would have designed hundreds of set and inlay ideas.
