That really looks like a BG JAV chip, I mean the Chinese made a good looking copy down to the shape of the inserts and everything. Only the decal looked off to me, so no fault to anyone thinking it is BG. I did a lot of digging and finally found these. If the original picture had shown the edges, possible irregularities would have also pointed to a Chinese knock-off.

Shocked :eek: these are exact copies , oh well those Chinese folks are very good in making replicas. But that goes only for the visual aspect , as soon as you pick that chip up you will know it certainly isn’t B&G.

Mines are 43mm

Yeah those chips on aliexpress are 43mm as well. Most of the time BG chips have their logo on the decal, but IMO there was a slight chance of a re- or overlabel, or that it was an older chip made to a private customer when such a thing was still possible. Below some real BG 43mm chips, just to show how close that Chinese chip is.

Not necessarily, I know it’s most of the time what you said but casinos can choose this by themselves if they want the b&g logo on decal I think. Holland casino prefers the little more privacy from where these chips come from and has no logo in the decal other than their own logo. That’s why it took me a while to figure out where their amazing chips coming from actually. This was way before my chipping time and being a member here , I quickly did my research and learned that these are BG and specifically JAV Mold :)

16.5G!!! :vomit::vomit::vomit:

Ever played with them ? They’re heavy yes, but their among the best plastics out there. Very nice sound , and handling them is very nice , that’s why casinos here only go for BG , no clay anywhere to be found here.
I’m guessing also , it’s their durability which is much much better than clays.

Well, I'm guessing that it's also much cheaper for European casinos to purchase European-manufactured chips because of preferred trade status within the Eurozone. It would probably be very cost prohibitive to import North American-made compression clays in the quantities that a casino would need (many tens or hundreds of thousands), even if B&G and Paulson are under the same umbrella.

I don’t think that’s the case , Holland casino is a casino that belongs to the Dutch government with 14 establishment in the Netherlands. There’s a article that Holland casino ordered 3 million chips from gpi as a “reorder” , if they really wanted Paulsons they would’ve gotten it :)
Paulsons are cheaper for casinos than BG as many of us already know , so it’s really the more expensive option they are choosing. Long term , yes they last longer than clays so the casino will not need as many re orders. But these BG chips are not cheap by any means for any casino

But GPI is only the umbrella corporation. Manufacturing origin matters. If a casino in the Netherlands buys 3M chips from GPI, it's a sure bet they are B&G, where they wouldn't have to pay an import tax. There would be huge surcharges on Paulson or even Bud Jones chips. Nothing stopping them from buying them, but I doubt they would see it as a good investment.

Like I said , it’s from the government. They are not paying 1 dime for import tax if they wanted Paulsons. They own the damn tax here ;)

I think , this is the real reason why all casinos in EU using BG chips ;
BG is part of GPI now but first it wasn’t , and when it wasn’t , the casinos here saw it as their only option for casino currency in Europe . They were indeed like mentioned above looking for a manufacturer with easier shipping than rather to have something from the US.
But as their part of GPI now , they just sticking with BG because well , these chips are very good and don’t see a benefit that Paulsons would have over BG. If there were a benefit , they would’ve gotten Paulsons.

Wow, those Chinese chips are a very close replica of the B&Gs. I think I can see slight differences between the mold shapes when I look at the two pictures side-by-side, but it could just be an artifact of the way the pictures were taken. I'd love to have them both in my hands to see if I could spot the differences in person.

you will spot the difference immediately when you pick both chips up and compare them. These Chinese replica’s are probably just garbage by how they feel and sound , visual aspect can be always duplicated in anything , not just chips for that matter.
But the quality , is something those people can’t quite make the same or even near the same. It’s also with other things like clothing , bags , etc
