I was going to sell about 1000 poker chips that are 14g each. They would be shipped in an aluminum case that has dimensions of approximately 21 x 15 x 2.5 in.

The weight calculator comes in at about 30.8 lbs for the 1000 chips. So I'm tacking on about 3 extra pounds for the case, extra padding, and the box to round it to about 35 lbs.

Does anybody have a suggestion on the best shipping service to use and how much the cost would be? Any recommendations on how to box up the 1000 chip case would be appreciated too.

Pirateship.com is the way to go and what I’ve used for years.
Be sure to strap (not tape) that case closed, too.

Added information is that it would ship from California to Pennsylnannia.
I think the best advice here is to sell them to someone on the West Coast instead lol. If they're 14g chips in an aluminum case, I'm assuming they're not some super specialized custom chip. Have to imagine there are easier buyers for you and easier sources for the other guy, could probably cut his costs down by nearly $100 if he just buys a comparable (or even identical) set from someone in the area or from an online retailer with better shipping available.

If the case is not mandatory, 1,000 chips can fit in a couple of flat-rate USPS boxes. Just don’t throw them in the box, wrap them in stacked barrels with plastic wrap, then use plenty of padding.
Two flat rate boxes will ship cheaper than any other alternative.
