Bit late to the party, but...
I consider 50 BB buy-ins to be an absolute minimum, more likely should be 100 BBs... However...
For you with a $40 buy-in, I think for $2 BBs are just too Big...

Agreed, I host a .25/.50 with a $50 buy in and I couldn't imagine bumping that to a 1/2 with that buy in. It would turn me into a complete nit.
