Chipping Journey and/or Retirement - How you doin’? (1 Viewer)

I have not bought any chips in a year or so, at least any meaningful quantity of chips. I still see stuff for sale I like but I can’t justify the current prices, especially on new Paulson chips. Plus I remind myself that any set I buy is going to just sit there for the most part as I have many sets to rotate when I host. I got most of my stuff in the good old days when $3 per chip was expensive.
Summary still window shopping but to thrifty to buy. Also too lazy to sell but I should sell some stuff.

I decided to slow down, not stop, but it's just not my focus right now. It's easy to get caught up in buy buy buy, and I wanted to show myself, first and foremost, that I don't need to buy buy buy. I still have A LOT of unfinished business, but I don't let it bother me anymore. One of the things that bothers me is the sell, sell, sell someday. I mean, what a pain in the ass  :ROFLMAO: I think about some of my unfinished sets and I still have my eye out, but not all the time, I don't even look at eBay. I also stopped drinking , just to improve my health. I made a commitment to get back in shape and it's been 22 months with no alcohol. I won't drink again until I get back in shape. Haven't smoked either. My life sucks :p

A whole walk in closet for chips?!

Sounds like we need to see some photos of that collection!
Haha my chips have devoured a walk in closet and a bedroom.

At this point only one thing can possibly bring me out of chipping retirement, Golden Ticket!! Cmon!! One Time!!!

Going strong after starting earlier this year. Spent a bit too much on chips I shouldn't but live and learn

I am at the point in life where I am downsizing everything and trying to live more simple. Moving to a house 1/3 of my previous house size was one big step (by choice) and so a lot of stuff is gone and I am good with that. I sold off some chips I did not have plans for and continue to sell some as I figure out I have more than I need. It goes back to Fight Club where the stuff you own ownes you, so I am freeing myself of stuff. I am still 10 years from retirement, but why wait until I am forced to get rid of stuff? We had an estate sale of the stuff we did not move, was hard selling or donating things I liked enough to buy, but I am a year down that road and not sad about it.
Anyways, I have dropped my chip buying to occasional deals or singles I want to fill my collection, but that is all.
Cheers,
T
