My money would be on me being in that 20% category.I understand this is a collectors forum but people seem preoccupied with 0.5 gram/chip either way. I would be interested in how people fair in a blindfolded test. My money would be on 80% of people not being able to tell the difference.
I am not knocking this thread. I love seeing the different weights of each chip. I am just suggesting that without the help of a scale my guess is most people wouldn't know the difference.
I’m in the don’t care category, but I also expect I’d be able to notice the difference blindfolded.I understand this is a collectors forum but people seem preoccupied with 0.5 gram/chip either way. Just gave the wifie (uninfected by the chipping bug) a 10 stack of Scandia (9.2g), NY (9.8g) and Horseshoe snappers (10.8g) and asked her to put them in order from lightest to heaviest. She got it right and said it was easy. I totally agree that a couple of tenths wouldn't make a big difference but a whole gram per chip is pretty easy for me to identify.
This isn't real science. Ask her to quickly down 2 tequila shots, do a handstand, and then try again...

Yes, there's also a huge difference between several PNY denoms.Within certain sets, WTHC yellow (or is it red?) vs. gray for example, there can be quite a bit of variation between different colored denominations.
