So naturally, after ordering my first set of casino Paulsons after lurking here forever and having not yet passed the couple days to get them in the mail, I'm thinking about another set.

I had an idea for a non standard denomination set after seeing some chips at the poker chip lounge. For a .50/1 game, I'd like to run .50/2/10/50 chips to keep the 4-5x difference and do something a little different.

My question is, given those denoms, what colors would you use for the chips? I have a roundabout idea of what I'd do but I'm wanting to see other ideas.

I know it's probably not going to be a popular idea, but most games I've played use 2 chips for BB, .05/.10, .25/.50, 1/2. .50/1 is one that doesn't, but this was idea for something different for different sake.

I'd go with :

0.50 - Brown
2 - Pink (or Fuschia)
10 - Blue (ex Blue Grain)
50 - Yellow or Peach (Canary or Salmon would work too)

Pink frac - Brown 2 - Gray 10 - Blue 50?

I dunno. The .50-$2 thing has my head spinning. The big blind always has to use two chips? Ugh

I don't see an issue with the BB having to post 2 chips. In a cash game, however, what I dislike is the SB having to post 2 chips (I then prefer to have SB = BB). But it's a personal preference.

Btw, this thread reminds me my solid tournament set I did and I'll never thank you again for the nice Pinks you sold me !

Digging up an old thread...

Washed Orange .50 (maybe white edge spots, or none)
Red $2 (dark edge spots)
Dark Blue $10 (bright color edge spots. Lime green/Light blue)
Gray $50 (light blue/yellow edge spots or black/white)

An example (not Paulsons) with similar breakdown in the OP.
Grey 0,50 / Green 2 combination works well imo.
