China Cards Mold - CHINA CLUB group buy - 26,025 chips - NO NEW ORDERS (1 Viewer)

Maybe it was intentional, but the Keno Queen side of the $25 looks like different artwork. The ”inlay” is a different shape, she has a yellow dress instead of green, and the denomination looks like a darker red...
Good catch on the inlay shape! Thanks!

Regarding the original chips, if you haven't seen this it's a great read on the New China Club.

It's been a while since I read it, but I don't believe there were any actual NCC $25 chips. This was a very low stakes casino, with a few $100s, otherwise $5 was the largest chip commonly used. So these $25s are just a tribute chip created because we here at PCF want playable sets. Maybe @timinator and whoever he worked with at the beginning just decided they wanted to add another color to one of the chips, and since there was no real $25, they had a little creative license with that one. Also, I believe the Keno Queen with the yellow dress on a green background (like we are doing on one of the Dealer Buttons) came from the ash trays used at the club.

The $25 and $100 chips were prototypes, never in play. There is a very nice example of the $100 with a collector. I think the price is $5k for that chip, or somewhere around there.
This one?

Let’s make sure to confirm with Tina that she use OUR artwork. If you see the 4 batches of this set that @SeanGecko just received and posted, there is one batch/person who used scallop inlays instead of the flower.

In regards to the Keno Queen on the $25 chip, I am ok with the green (matching) or yellow to contrast against the green chip base color. I would say stick to our artwork, but the runs from the first batch had a yellow KQ on only the $25 chip. Here is a pic from my sample set. Regardless, all chips should have flower inlays on both sides for all chips.

Ms. Keno Queen has a *YELLOW* dress on the $25 chips that I currently possess. They're all sample sets only so I could not care less if she has a yellow or green dress.

Does anybody have a preference? If so, why?

No dog in this hunt (except as a potential aftermarket buyer), but for consistency, I'd want all shaped inlays to be the same shape (hubs, in this case) and all dresses to be the same color (green, in this case).

Or ALL different, with no repeating shapes OR colors.

But having a single-chip exception in the middle of the lineup looks like either an error or an oversight.

Yeah, I agree with this. Either all the same or all different but it doesn’t really make sense to have one chip with a different colored dress or different shaped inlay.

The currently submitted artwork IS for the green dress and correct "shaped inlay" on the $25, so I will make sure that is what is made.
I agree with all green.
I will keep a couple of my yellows as "error" chips. Sweet!

I like the yellow dress on at least one of the chips. All the chips with green dresses were actually produced (for the casino), so those should remain as is. Regardless, this artwork was shown in the beginning of this order, and we have 26K chips ordered after all of us saw it and were happy with it. I don't think it's right to change it now.

Artwork in the OP is green dress.

So it is. I was going by the photo of actual chips that @FDLmold posted a few post later.

If there was a conversation indicating that this was not the $25 chip that was being produced, then I must have missed it. I realize this is of no concern to anyone else, but personally, that is my favorite chip in the entire lineup.

As I now see that this post was incorrect, and as my order of 25s is less than 2% of the total order, I'm not going to make any waves over this. Green dress it is as Paul has decided.

@FDLmold how many yellow dress 25s do you currently have? Any chance we could trade a few once this order comes in?

I’m fine with green and agree with @BGinGA’s post. As per @FDLmold the only 25 and 100 I have are the sample sets. However, please make sure the inlays are fixed and consistent across all sides.

The yellow dress wouldn't look good on the $5 though. And I don't think we want to have different color dresses on different chips, unless it was not repeated on any 2 chips (as Dave suggested as well). Please don't mess with the $5 chip. It's a dream.

Ditto.
I like the yellow on the $25, but then it wouldn't work on the $5. Since the $1 and 5 are the main chip in play, I think the consistent design works best.
Also, the $5 is based on the actual NCC $5 chip where the keno queen has' the green dress.

1) the dresses will be green
2) I had not noticed the yellow dress on the $25 at all until the last 24 hours or so
3) if you are getting $25s and do not want green dresses, I will refund your money and not order your chips, no problem
4) I personally have only 23 or 24 of the yellow dress $25 chips, so not enough to replace anybody’s order - they are official error chips now, like the red 10c chips, so minimum $50 each if you want one now

Unfortunately, it looks like there's at least another 250 "yellow dress" $25s en route. Best shut the factory down to preserve their value  :ROFLMAO:
