How about having a card guard that covers a large portion of your cards? If they can't see the mark then it changes everything. Right?
in all honesty, there will be cheating of some kind in every single area in which money is at risk. it really is a whac-a-mole scenario. tamp down on the card marking and they'll find another way.
that's not to say that we shouldn't take any measures to prevent what was going on here or other problematic practices, but we have to be cognizant of the costs or else we'll all end up playing at one of those electronic chip-less, card-less tables.

Then they will mark them with an ink the blocks the UV (like sunscreen). Same end result.
One way to remove physical card cheating is to use electronic cards, but that feels kinda classless to me, especially in a live game... and would lead to endless complaints of "rigged" deals.

supposedly the guys already all-but-vindicated by the RIO. Post 561 in the same thread - dude has 8 posts and no citations though, so who really knows at this point

He provided an interview yesterday which you would find interesting. According to him he was banned by one Czech casino for edging in roulette and has no poker bans anywhere. Regardless, at this time there is no evidence of any cheating but one hell of a lot speculation. Let the evidence speak for itself as the card decks were sent off for a more thorough forensic analysis. However, the infrared inks are easily discernible with the technology in Vegas and when it was used on numerous decks the results were negative for the ink everyone is speculating existed.
The truth of the matter is an elaborate forensic analysis of all of the decks is also being undertaken to determine if some other unknown marking agent is on the card decks in question. To speculate one way or another which has happened in this thread is ridiculous. All I have seen is a bunch of whining pros with no evidence claiming someone cheated. If it is proven true then go after the guy. But it is way to premature at this time for this attack to be transpiring. By the way, the morons attacking me in this thread because I am waiting for direct proof must be losing players. Why would I make that assumption? Only complete idiots would vilify a fellow poker player without any evidence except speculation."
