Many years ago the game I play in had a guy somehow rigging the deck. They finally caught him with a phone camera under the table. I forgot all the details.

Mechanics have to start somewhere. The first cheating attempt is not at high stakes.

I once witnessed a guy seriously propose we stop cutting the cards in a $20 STT. He got pretty aggressive about it. I went to the carpet on it & insisted the only possible reason for that was he wanted to cheat but wasn’t very good at doing it. Had to threaten the host that I’d leave if we didn’t cut. I won.

If I wasn’t in that game this very amateur mechanic would have gotten some practice in: everyone else was ready to go along.
