Basically the title. I'm on the hunt for acetate playing card, of which I think there is just KEM, Angel out of Japan, and Modiano Platinum, but I have also seen that Cartamundi makes (or made) 100% acetate cards in bridge size, which I prefer to poker-sized.

However, I cannot seem to find any place that actually has them available for sale.

Are they no longer manufactured? I know Cartamundi is a huge company with many brands, is there a chance their acetate cards might be "hiding" under another brand name like Copag these days?

I have a deck but haven’t seen them for sale in over 10 years. I ended up with 36+ set ups of cards from almost every brand made over the last 15- 20 years trying to find an acetate like alternative to Kems that didn’t have the tendency to bow,….but had a similar feel. The Cartamundi Acetate are ok but a very smooth texture that causes the decks to be difficult to shuffle. They are nice but not worth seeking out.

After many years and hundreds and hundred dollars of buying cards, only Angel from Japan is the equivalent if not a little bit better than Kem in feel. I came on to these late my journey because they were hard to source. Ended up buying from Amazon Japan. If you like to feel of Kem cards but without the tendency to bow, Angels are THE ONLY option. They are made in bridge size but only come in standard index right now. I’m fine with that but tend to buy jumbo bridge as the players in my group get a little older.

Before I found angels, I would just recommend people stop looking, by the damn Kems cards, and store them upside down with a cut card on top and a dealer button. I’ve done this for the last 15+ years and I’ve kept 12 decks of Kems perfectly flat. Outside of Angel cards they’re simply not a single card made that feels as nice as Kem IMO

That said I can no longer recommend this being that the price of Kem cards have become absolutely outrageous and there’s never a sale or discount to be found. I never paid more than $23 for a set up..

Appreciate the feedback. I had a feeling they weren’t around. I’m pretty good at digging, including in Europe, and couldn’t find them.

I’m gonna have to get some Angels though. I keep hearing how good they are. And bridge+standard are my favorite. May have to get good at Amazon Japan now!

They are really the only option even remotely close to the Kem acetate feel….even a little softer and maybe a tiny bit nicer. Mine have stayed flat too…so save your money and just get the Angels. Only one color way though

Angels still out of stock it appears. I think I checked several months ago after trying again and realized I’d shopped for these before.

Hoping they will come back in stock…

Found some Guild 100% acetate Bridge Standard Index. They’re on the way. We’ll see how they feel.
