Jenn and I are heading out to Vegas from Wed Sep 29th - Wed Oct 6th

We'll be celebrating our wedding anniv. and I will be playing the WSOP Reunion Tournament after that. We haven't been to Vegas in over a decade. I have an Elite card at Tampa Hard Rock (2nd highest tier, just behind the invite-only X-Card)

So I'm assuming I can leverage that somewhere in Vegas to get a higher tier card out there as well, and maybe some room deals or comps? Anyone got some info that would help?

@Payback is the man when it comes to this type of stuff (status matching, etc.).

My only advice is to make sure you have the two big ones (Caesars Rewards and Mlife), then log in and check rates at each hotel site. It's a little bit of work, but I saved a couple hundred dollars on my recent stay at Bally's by doing this.

Do you have a casino host? Why don't you look into getting a room at Lake Tahoe instead? While you are there you can look into getting a tier match at a Caesars property.

The only reason I have Elite is because they used to count poker comps and I snuck in

They no longer do, but looks like Caesars and Mlife do Tier match so when I'm out there I should be apply to apply for their higher level cards without them realizing I don't play much outside of poker

But I do not have a host in Tampa. I asked for one when I first got the card and was told "don't call us, we'll call you"

I guess my thinking is, they may not tier match you in Vegas because Hard Rock there is closed. I guess you could call Caesar's Rewards and ask them if they will match you in Vegas before you go. But Lake Tahoe is a better spot for an anniversary if Hard Rock will comp you some rooms there.

I checked the websites for Caesars and Mlife for their tier matching

I believe it was Caesars that tier matches my Elite card, but it looks like it has to be done in-person and you may have to waot 30 days for the card or something

But then I can get the Caesars card tier matched with Mlife, etc

I think you have to get it matched in Florida, not in Vegas though, so you can get it done before you book Vegas. I would call Caesar's Rewards to confirm.

Comps dont usually transfer from city to city. I had ridiculous offers in Vegas but nothing in Biloxi until I went there again. Speaking of, you might be able to their match, I am taking my mlife gold to Harrahs Gulf Coast to get a Diamond card so I can get a few freebies. Not sure if works for Hard Rock, but check the website and see if they will.

So it looks like Caesars would upgrade me to a Diamond card with their Tier match. BUT, their site says for "new members". Jenn and I visited Vegas in 2007 and stayed at Harrahs, we may already be in the system.

In addition, we'd have to do it in person, nothing over the phone or online. I'm going to call them this week to see if I'm in their system or not. There is a casino here in FL about 4 hours away that can do the upgrade. But the description on their site also said it could take up to 60 days to process your upgrade and it would be valid starting Jan 31, 2022 (i.e. it wouldn't be valid before then if I'm reading it right?)

As far as MGM/Mlife properties, they do NOT tier-match my Elite card, but they do tier match the Diamond card from Caesars. But that is only through the end of this year. So if the Caesars card isn't valid until Jan 31, 2022 then I may not be able to pull off any useful tier match to help me with the trip coming up in Sep/Oct of this year

Biloxi is what, 6-8 hours away? Play some poker at the beau and make some scratch while getting tier match at Caesars at the Harrah's. Then it will be available for your Vegas trip. (My plan anyway)
Now the thing is, you will have a diamond card, but you cannot get into the diamond lounge until you earn play status. You do get celebration dinner ($100) and some better offers, and line jump capabilities, but they still only give good stuff if you earned it.

While they may turn you down because you are not a new member, you are reading it wrong. If approved, your tier status will be good until Jan 31, 2022. I would say odds are good you would be tier matched anyways. I had my platinum status already extended to 2023 and I haven't set foot in a casino since early 2020. It seems they are desperate for players.

I hope this is right. I'd snag the $100 celebration dinner credit, PLUS they offer free 4 nights at Atlantis in the Bahamas (plus up to 2 more nights for $120/ea) that I could use in Jan (Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure?)

Will find out this week!

Sigh, I spoke with the Caesar Rewards department and was told since I'm already in their system I wouldn't be eligible for a Tier Match, it's only applicable to new accounts.

And unfortunately Mlife, which I don't believe I have an account with, doesn't tier match any properties in Florida like Caesars does. So I had hoped to get tier matched to Caesar Diamond (which would give me a $100 celebration dinner credit, no resort fees, free 4-day stay at Atlantis Resort in Bahamas, etc) and then use the Caesars card to tier match with Mlife for whatever bonuses they offer.

Whomp whomp :(

The problem is Friday and Saturday nights are pricey in Vegas.

You should still try logging into Caesars Total Rewards. I'm lowest tier and my rates look like this for your dates. You have to add ~$50 per night to these rates for resort fee & taxes. I think you would get the same. Ballys, Linq and Flamingo are all nice at those prices. Checked Mlife and the rates are worse.

If it's not too late and as you'll be there for a week, I would check redweek.com for some good vacation ownership deals. No resort fees.

I wound up using points from the MyVegas app to snag a couple of free nights and then reserved the rest of the trip with the Mlife 15% off credit.

However with the trend in Vegas right now there's a possibility we may need to cancel the trip since the WSOP could get severely limited capacity or potentially cancelled with all the covid changes happening again
