Was told today I need around 101 comp dollars more to quality for the Elite card at Tampa Hard Rock.

Problem is that on January 1st they're resetting the system to qualify and will add a fourth card into their current three card roster.

The poker games I play I earn $2/hr in comps and I'll be hard pressed to put in the 50+ hours before the end of the year and the reset with my schedule

I'll probably be about 40'ish comps shy. Can anyone recommend games at the Tampa Hard Rock outside of the poker room that I might play to qualify in time? The card would be valid for a year so wanted to lock it up now instead of getting reset and having to try and earn it next year.

Just looking for some tips on what to play, what to bet, etc. that are likely to get me over the hump to qualify in time for the card, thanks!

Video poker usually is the best method as you can get between 97-99% depending on the machine/payouts so even if it takes 2x the coin in vs. slots you are better off as those payouts are 70-90%.

Can you spend for hotel, gift shop, or online stuff?

What does Elite status earn you? If the rewards are significant and Kat an entire year, it might be worth some OT at the tables over the next few days...

Acess to a special parking area, $10 buffets, if you win a casino promo/giveaway it's added to your card automatically (base card you have to be present and rush to a location within 10 minutes to claim it) and there may be more, not sure

The first thing I think of is the great result of Bart Hanson hitting a royal when playing for comps.

You're going to run into big variance playing for points. The likely loss isn't worth the reward. That said, the degen GTO thing to do is definitely $100 spins and lose your bankroll...for free parking. ;)

Seems like there’s a short window of opportunity here. I’d think that what some others have recommended is advisable. A players club card playing Max bets (video poker) $1 max x 5 would help. If you have a players card and a room, charge EVERYTHING to the room.

You have to play Black Jack/ThreeCard Poker/Craps/other Table games buy in for a Large Amount and then bet a decent amount at first when the pit boss is looking. I have a friend whom used to play Craps every weekend and he bought in for between 500-1000 every time. Me and the rest of our poker crew (about 4-5 guys) when we went to the Sands Casino with him we got Emeril’s Chophouse comped by him and he didn’t mind. If you can’t do that you have to play higher limit slots.

No clue, stuff outside of poker is greek to me

Ask a Pitt boss if there are any bonus days coming up or bonuses for playing a certain amount in a day. Caesar’s used to have “Diamond in a Day” where players could get Diamond status in 1 day because of extra bonuses that could be had for putting so much money through a machine or table games. They have since made it harder to do, but most casinos do offer bonuses of some kind.

Honestly doesn’t look like the benefits are that great, so I’d be careful what you risk to make this happen.

betting both sides of the even money propositions is your best bet, but most casinos have closed those loopholes so test it out before you plop down the big bets.

player/bank at baccarat, red/black or 1-18/19-36 at roulette etc. Video poker as others mention is usually a good one too.

Definitely talk to a pit boss.. if they see you are at it on the regular, they may give you the extra hours you need, since you're so close.
This. I think you’d be surprised, unless you’ve already called him an idiot at some point in the past. Poker room manager might be your best bet, they know the regulars and semi regulars and know that if they do this for you then you’ll not bad mouth them or their rulings. Tacit support is worth a lot to people in semi authoritative jobs.

So I lucked out. Going into today I was 38 comps away from qualifying

I wanted to lock it in today because when you use machines the comps don't show up for 24 hours, and I wanted to clear so I could secure the Elite card tomorrow before they reset everything

Turns out the electronic rpulette machines DO count in the comp system. Burned through $300 betting $10 on red and black (damn you double zero!) But managed to earn 40 in comps so I can get the card tomorrow

I hit up the 1/2/5 PLO game first at Luckys and won over a grand before swinging to the hard rock

I fully intend to buy a monacle like @Poker Zombie and then hop into the special Elite line at restaurants while shouting OUT OF MY WAY PEASANTS!
