I'm going to be hosting a big poker night for the startup I work at in San Francisco next week. The number of RSVPs significantly exceeded our expectations. I only have two cash chip poker sets, but it's not enough for the number of players we're expecting(think we're going to be running 5 tables). Does anyone have a big set of tournament chips(probably need at least 1k if not 2k) I could borrow for the event, happy to extend an invite in exchange for letting us borrow the chips, or provide some monetary compensation. Would be super grateful!

Even though this is primarily a poker chip hoarder’s site, it is still very rare for anyone to have a 5 table tournament set laying around unless they specifically host 4+ table tournaments event regularly

And some of those sets might be in rare chips which cost thousands of dollars and come with chips that is hard to replace (if they get lost / damaged) which to be fair it quite a common occurrence for some non chippers to just take one chip back home

ONE of my sets at a stretch will support 5 tables (40 players) with a rebuy.... 200BB.

And, true to what you mention, I WOULD allow it to be borrowed... for a deposit of triple what I paid for it. :ROFLMAO:

Well, what are you starting with... This guy is a newbie...
It is hard for him to understand that it is not so easy to get a good set in such quantity and no one will give it to a stranger even for $.

Finally, you can ask the local public to calculate the required number of chips for the game and start buying up cheap sets at the local flea market, which are ubiquitous. I once bought suitcases for storing chips this way for $ 10 and now have a whole bucket of such plastic chips, about 1200 pieces, in the basement.
(The funniest thing is that in two suitcases there were super-cool playing cards, which were more expensive than all the contents and this paid for the whole deal.)

(You would even be doing me a favor if you took them. But I am in Germany.)

And it may cost you less than all the options. Finally, you can show your sets here and indicate the number of participants and perhaps your chips will be enough for you (although unlikely).
