I don't think I can honestly say yes, but I know I sold my Cleveland Horseshoes after only playing with them three times and getting crushed each time. I guess I sold them because I decided I didn't care for the feel of casino used RHCs. But I can't help wondering if I I might have held on to them if I'd been raking mad pots.

I haven't sold any chips for this reason.

However, I too started out with a casino used cash set of Horseshoe Clevelands. I also couldn't deal with used feel of the set, after first purchasing mint chips to start the hobby. I only want excellent, sharp, or better chips. Probably made a mistake with my first 2 chip orders. Direct from CPC, and then direct from Jim, to buy Jack Detroit.

I don't think I'll ever acquire another used set.

Nope but I witnessed people destroying cards after peticulary costly badbet..
I heard that gamblers are notoriously superstitious....

I am...
Yeah in my early days of playing poker, I really didn't know what I was doing (even worse than now lol). I overcalled a 4 bet jam with JJ for a 1-k pot at 1/2 NL. Flop came out j93 I flipped up my cards and by the river the guy I called was ripping up his hand.

That set f'n sucks dude; can't win crap with it!! You don't want that bad omen stinking up you house. :ROFLMAO:
Hey now the OP @upNdown helped me in building my Giant chip set. Someday when I get plaques made (I know you are not a fan, but nothing I can do) we will have to see how we run on another "Big Boy set"

No where near as cool as the winners clubs, but still all Fat Hats is going to be pretty awesome. Planning on making T2k and T10k plaques for the top end at some point!

I was talking about the winner clubs stinking it up!! :)

Great question. I haven't sold chips specifically because I felt like they seemed to be bad luck but it did make the decision less painful. I do have sets that don't get their fair share of playing time because well...they're jinxed

No sets, but there’s definitely been a few card cappers hit the trash bin after bad sessions.

We don't talk about these things...
Just kidding. This is the best group to talk about these things.

I sold my Crown Plaza Abbiati set recently. After owning them for a year I can't remember a single time I have won with them. Cards either never came or just got really sour on the turn and river. I want to say that part of me just loves clay chips more and the other reason I sold them was because the crew got confused by the black $20 chips, but I think that they fell out of favor the more I lost with them.

Then again maybe it's just my excuse to buy a different set.

Willing to buyin all jinx set at a huge discounted price my losses your gain ;);)

Chips are always innocent. I now only have chips that are part of me, anyway.
I might hate a deck of cards, which is a lot more reasonable.:)
