I just got my Classic Poker Chips color and mold samples. If you've been after samples, but weren't aware of these, you should get a set. It's probably the easiest way to gather a batch of premium chips to see what is possible in the chip universe.

If you look back, you will see that I said pretty much the same thing about Key West Casino samples. No surprises there. It's the same chip, but with a complete design of a complete set.

Which chips are you discussng? Classics are generally used to describe the home set that Paulson made in 2005-2006.

I wasn't aware of that. Classic Poker Chips aka CPCs I think is the manner of speaking 'round these parts. OP edited.

Never heard of them

Key West? Great chips. I haven't convinced myself that they are in my price point, but I sure like them.

@chipinla was making a little joke. He has multiple custom CPC sets.

The Key West are solid for off the shelf chips, but for just a bit more you can go full custom and create a set that would blow it out of the water. Plus have your own personalized inlay art. While some here are satisfied with the off the shelf offerings such as Key West, Rounders, and Atlantic Club, I think most prefer customs.

As far as the price point, some of us take a little longer, and I suspect some will never get there. Took me about a year to cross the $1 per chip threshold. And about 3 years to cross $2 per chip. But I do now have a CPC set in the works and will probably place my order later this year.

I almost bought a small set of the recent Tiger Palace chips after being hypnotized by the bright flashy colors and variety of cool edge spots. But then I realized that for the same money I could have a much larger set that was customized using my personal poker club inlay. Probably more bright colors than most would care for, but I'm pretty happy with this design. A big, playable cash set of these comes in at right around $2.85 per chip average cost. So not a whole lot more than the off the shelf chips, but something that has a whole lot more meaning to me. A set I will use for the rest of my life, then pass down to my kids.
