Few questions:

Big Bet Draw-Deucey Single Draw shows Draw 3 max (also shows BB instead of "Bet") and Limit Draw-Deucey Single Draw shows draw 2 max. Which is correct?

Thanks for catching this. I'll look into it and will post here when I've fixed the cards.

Edit: I inadvertently pasted the wrong image on this card. Watch for the next update later this week.

I noticed that big bet games doesn't distinguish between no-limit and pot limit games.

In WSOP dealer's choice events, Big Bet Draw games with multiple draws tend to be Pot Limit instead of No Limit.

Also, Big Bet stud games. Fascinating. You don't see that around in Casinos today.

PS. Is this a good forum to discuss split pot game strategies for these weird games?

The guys from the last meet up were fortunate to have @inca911 to be our poker instructor using those flash cards. After a game or two, it's actually fun and lots of action since most of the games are split pots. More than half of the players are always still in before the flop. I started out making separate cards for NL and PL games, but because the cards were identical except for the title, I scrapped that idea except for PLO, which by definition is pot limit. Some hosts determine in advance which games are NL or PL, while others allow the chooser to determine the betting structure.

I made separate cards for fixed-limit games to differentiate between small-bet and big-bet rounds.

As for strategy, it might be better to start a thread in the strategy subforum and put a link in this thread. I'd love to see strategy discussions of these games on PCF.

Has burned cards been taken to account with max players?

Generally speaking, yes. Dramaha and Draw2maha are frequently dealt without burns; this is not noted on the cards because it's not a universal procedure. Some games may run out of cards (e.g., 7-card stud and triple-draw games), in which case the usual remedies would apply (not noted on the game cards). In our games we follow the procedures in RROP for private/home games when we run out of cards.

Do let me know if any of the max players don't look right.

What is RROP?

For stud games the remedy is usually a shared community card.

For draw games, the remedy is usually reshuffling the muck (not including the current discards).

What is RROP?

Robert's Rules of Poker by Bob Ciaffone

There are two versions, one for casinos and public card rooms, and one for private/home games. Both can be downloaded from his website. For tournaments, RROP and TDA rules are consistent with one exception, as noted on Ciaffone's web page.

For the most part, his rules are based on the most common rules and practices. In the appendix he discusses some rules that he thinks can/should be changed or improved.

With a few exceptions (house rules), my home games follow RROP home game rules. I make a printed copy available.

Thanks.

BTW, there's a game that Tim Duckworth mentioned in his YouTube channel that interests me.

It's called Highdugi

Like in Badugi, you can only use one card of each suit. However, you want paired highs.

The had ranking is like this:
  1. Quads
  2. Trips - rainbow
  3. Two Pair - rainbow
  4. Pair - rainbow
  5. High card - rainbow
  6. Trips - 3 card
  7. Pair - 3 card
  8. High card - 3 card
  9. Pair - 2 card
  10. High card - 2 card
  11. 4 flush
It's outlandish, I know.

Yeah during the SQM me and @inca911 made new fun game.

SuperHoldem 8 PL

Make three hands.
Throw one before turn is dealt
Throw one before river is dealt.

Five Card Draw is being played as No Limit in WSOP Dealer's Choice and Big Bet Mix. I might as well request that.

I looked at the WSOP Dealer's Choice structure and noticed the games grouped into the following:
  • (Fixed) Limit Draw/Flop (Hold 'Em and Omaha)
  • (Fixed Limit) Stud Games
  • No-Limit/Pot-Limit (Big Bet) Games
Each group has unique betting structures for the level with Big Bet blinds usually half the Fixed Limit blinds.

The awkward spot I see would be Big Bet Stud Games where there are usually no blinds and ante only.

I've come across this page:
https://www.pokernews.com/strategy/home-game-heroes-strategy-extra-hole-cards-flop-games-22385.htm

There are two games: Watermelon, and Crazy Watermelon

Crazy Watermelon is also known as Ludicrous Pineapple.
Watermelon, on the other hand, one card before the flop and one card after the flop.

I will add a big-bet card for 5-card draw.

Why would this would be an awkward spot? Possibly the best big-bet stud game I've played is Tahoe Pitch and Roll, which plays well pot limit.

Thanks for the link to one of the pokernews articles. I'll take a look at them.

I said that because I'm trying to figure out a betting structure similar to a single level of WSOP dealer's choice event.

I think I figured it out, though.

Take a Limit Stud betting structure and cut it in half, with Antes a bit less than 1/4 of the Big Blind and Bring In a bit more than 1/4 of the Big Blind.

It may need some fine tuning, however.

@inca911 is that the game that you came up with? There's 3 that I really like. SOHE, 3 hand Holdem and another one that I can't remember on top of my head.

Draw2maha is fantastic!. Along with Big O and Double Board PLO. For some reason a couple of guys in my group really like 3-2-1. I hate that damn game .

Looks like they picked a good game against you.

I'd pick a draw game any chance I have just because it isn't liked that much. It may just do some chip damage :cool:though.

We also played a few rounds of 2-7 No Limit Single Draw. I'm a big fan of the dramaha games. Sometimes we play you can draw 2, sometimes 3. Its up to the guy calling the game.

I noticed in draw games:
Single Draw games are usually 8 max;
Triple Draw games are usually 6 max

However, that seems not always the case.

In Draw-Deucey Single Draw for example, despite limiting to 2 card max draws, it is still six max. I would understand the "jacks or better" games being 6 max due to being a weird game mechanic.

Why is that?

PS. Due to the rising popularity of Short-Deck Hold'Em, I wonder if stripped decked variants are gonna be added later. (It doesn't have to be next update. No pressure.)

P.S. Looks like we'll have a good read in the future, hopefully.

Thank you Abby for this amazing resource. A friend sent me a copy, but I didn’t know where it came from. Found it here on this forum. Very gracious of you to offer it. Would be happy to support your efforts if you have a donation page. Thanks again.

I'll be uploading an updated version this evening.

Edit: Make that tomorrow evening, July 6.
