Sale 3D Printed Rack for Ultrasonic Cleaner - Taking Orders (4 Viewers)

Once someone gets one, would be interested in knowing about how long it takes to load one up and your thoughts on cleaning results after using it in the ultrasonic. Thanks

Prints are coming along. Dealing with the normal 3D printing snags. Hoping to send out all the orders I have so far by the next Thursday I have tweaked the design slightly I'll show a picture once it's done printing (so tomorrow) it same dimension just made it a little more printer friendly and will allow even more open chip space. Again I will reply to your DM when your order are ready to pack and ship out. Keep the orders coming! Just be prepared for a little wait time

Can I recommend a possible add to the design if you are playing around with it?!?! Could you add a hook or knob at the ends of each of the top rows so you could hook and stretch a rubber band across the entire row (length wise) to hold the top row of chips in place if/when you rotate/turnover the entire rack?? I hope that explanation makes sense???

Yes it makes sense and yes I'll work on something like that. The design has some unused holes I'll try to make any changes with retro fitting in mind so you won't need a new (and I won't have to print) a whole new rack for the upgrade.

Perfect. Thanks!!!

Update I am not sending any orders out today because @chipzilla pointed out a fitment problem with the vevor 6L and the rack @Dr_Dan11 already made a solution of little clip in feet that I will include in the sets I send out. Also I designing a solution for @Boother36 idea so you can lock the open top shut so you can rotate the rack upside down if needed. Thanks for your patience still hoping to send out most the orders Thursday but if I miss that mark it because of improvements. The feet can be added into any bottom hole pictured below are them in a 4 barrel rack, in the 200 chip for the vevor I think you will need to move them inward a few holes to fit the taper on the pan.

*Update* Shipping far fewer out today than I wanted. Sorry for the delays I could get into details but had some major setbacks some user error, some equipment failure. Still actively printing however I am down to 2 printers working on these at the moment and these prints take almost a full day each. I hope to be back to 4 printers by the end of the day. I will reply to your DMs when your order is ready to go. If you don't want to wait and already DM me feel free to message me back and take back your order. I will hopefully have all the current orders out but next Wednesday.

Alright story time. Woke up to one print clogged and failed at 46% one print with terrible stringing just right at the top probably last 10% and one acceptable print. 👎. I very much appreciate the design @Dr_Dan11 shared. This is a failure of my equipment or the filament that I am using (I normally print in pla+ 2.0) this petg has been sitting around a while but I have dried it for over 18hr now and it still strings and clogs. So I need a better way to produce these hence the design I have at the bottom. By setting individual plates on factory produced plastic rods it ensure high quality prints and if a print goes bad it was an hour waste instead of 16hr waste. So far this design seems great in every way except maybe a little more labor intensive on my end. Major con I need to order the plastic rods and it may take 3 weeks for them to get here. So I am asking you guys who made orders if your willing to wait or would like me continue make single piece print attempts? I do have new PETG spools coming and that may fix the printing problems.

The new design will be the same dimension as the old design I just don't have any 220mm long PP pipe to use right now.

I’m fine with waiting, I’m in no rush. Sorry to hear the trouble you’ve experienced and appreciate your efforts.

I’m in no rush and can wait. I’d be interested to see if the new PETG spool solves the problem.

Thanks for all this work.

Thank you all for your understanding I do enjoy tinkering and doing this work is a fun hobby for me. So at this if you are in a rush please let me know, and I will print off the old design. I did ordered the plastic pipes and am going to start printing the plates so when I get the rods Ill be able to quickly put together orders. Hopefully new spools will let me keep printing some racks for those who want it sooner. I will say the new design will allow much more water/air flow across the chips and should work better. I will be able to make 4 barrel racks in the new design sooner, because I can use short plastic rods I have for the poker chip tube racks I make, while I wait for the longer ones. So if you ordered a 4 barrel I will be reaching out to your DM's sooner than 200 chip racks

Dibs 2 x 200 slot racks please.

I am fine waiting for the improved designs..

Is here a clear plastic option? I want to prevent any chance of color bleed.

Thanks

I am printing in white for the new design at the moment. I can order some spools of clear. Just know that clear PETG filament prints out very cloudy and not clear. But it will be free of any dyes so that should address your concern about that. The plastic rods that attached the sheets together will be black on on all versions. They are factory made and PP which is "Polypropylene (PP) is considered a very stable, durable, and chemically inert plastic, making it ideal for food-safe containers, medical tools, and automotive parts."- google. So I do not think it will have any bleeding issues. I am actively printing the sheets now and just waiting for the factory pipes to get to me and then I should be able put them together and ship out eta 2-3 weeks

Update I got my printers tuned in for PETG and the racks are printing well now! I'm not gonna wait for the PP factory tubes. I'll start shipping out orders on Tuesday. Ill DM you when your order is ready to go. They will come with clip on feet to help them fit in the vevor 6L that has the tapered pan.

Well I finally got my PP rods and have found a good use for them. You can run them through the holes in the top of the rack and use them to keep the chips in place and turn the rack upside down or vertically. I also highly recommend when you remove the pins you push and the black tube part and not pull the printed T handles. They are just compression fitted on the tube, I didn't want to use and glue for contamination reasons.

I’m confused as to how and where to attach the clip on feet. Any pics you could share are appreciated!

Has anyone actually used one of these yet that can answer these questions?
Grab a barrel, hold it over slots, release and let them fall into slots. Might end up with a few that don't make it in and just drop them into open slots. Repeat. It only takes seconds per barrel for me.

Cleaning results are just as good imo. Way better than having to spin a salad spinner by hand the entire duration.

Hopefully these pics will clear up the feet usage. You wedge them in between the rows. It does take a little pressure at an angle but then it pops right in. The retainer rods unfortunately were an after thought (and I didn't physically have them yet) when I sent out the first few racks. Also I had to redesign ever so slightly to get them to fit correctly. I don't want to punish the earliest supporters so if you got an early version with no rods let me know and I'll calculate the shipping and just charge you that for a replacement. All new orders come with the rods included.

And yes you have to put the feet in the inside area like that. I know it makes it top and side heavy but the point of the feet are if you have a 6L vevor that has the tapered pan it should lift the rack enough from the ground to fit in.
