TL;dr - They're gonna do a USA $10k no rebuy deep online tournament on wsop.com, in early December, playing down to 9, and the same tournament will happen for the rest of the world on GGpoker.com. Both tournaments will play down to 9, then finish live at the end of December, USA at the RIO, rest of the world at King's. Then the two winners will play live for an extra million and the bracelet at the Rio on 12/30.

I'd skip it too. If it's a once in a lifetime experience, I'd like to actually have the experience.
And, I'd like to think I'm a decent enough tournament player that I'd have a chance of cashing the Main. But online? Nope, I'd be crushed.

Nah, this isn't a horrible idea. The only live portion is the 9 person final table. They'll be tested that day and if they test positive, they get 9th place. Pretty good incentive to isolate for a couple weeks before the game. Seems like a fairly safe situation.

Is that from the article? That seems crazy...but it does make sense.

I'm not sure about the "heads up for another $1 million" part...might skip that. But it'd still be fun to watch a USA & "world" table play down to 1...kind of like 2 WSOP final tables!
