Top 10 most annoying behaviors at the poker table..... (2 Viewers)

what drives me really crazy in a casino is the guy who complains when you 3 times all in in 1 orbit when you have only 7 BB left. "Can't you play poker? Only shoving all in...

I don't know why this makes me so crazy but it does......

Yeah that is really annoying. Going all in is part of playing poker.

Strategy-wise, i get annoyed at overfolding nits multi-way that don’t float their share so either I have to overdefend to get the unit up to MDF or we all get run over.

Play-wise, people who play slowly bc constantly distracted

Lastly, people who steal my dumb jokes or my three finger check or any of the dumb shit I do. Get your own thing

People that say “I have a pair of XX’s” whenever the board pairs.

I have a guy in my game that does that every time. Or when the board rivers a flush, or straight.... or when it does anything.
I usually save “I folded XX” for when there are three X’s on the board. :D

And usually, someone else says “me too!”

What kind of deck are you using that has X’s in it?*

Has anyone here ever heard of California Hold’em? It uses a special deck with unsuited 10’s and 11’s and suited 12’s. Clearly the concept failed spectacularly, but the guy who invented it used to push for it on another non-poker forum. Just curious if it ever got ANY publicity outside of that forum.

*My guys do the same thing. :bag:

Things I really hate, in no particular order:

Cocaine breaks.

guys who commit and then just never show up, no text/call.

Showing up late and very drunk... the very first (and last) time playing at a game.

That reminds me of a couple other ones.

- no response whatsoever to an invite
- no response/confirm to invite then show up to play

As someone who organizes a lot of games, the most annoying thing for me happens before the game even starts. People who confirm, then drop out an hour before play starts. Do this twice to me and you go to the bottom of the list.

Well, technically that's not AT the poker table. ;)

Also annoying, people that say "technically".

Why? The guy puts all streets face down but only turns up the flop? Am I understanding that correctly?

no, they lay all the cards out in one go. The entire point of burning the top card is it reduces the chances of marked cards being seen during the betting round.

Not sure if Im following this. If you put out the turn and river face down at the same time as the flop, it gives potential cheaters the ability to know the turn and river while still on flop action?

If the cards are marked a cheater would have a harder time knowing which card is coming next if it’s under the burn card. That’s why they burn from my knowledge on the subject.

It’s also To prevent screwing with the top cards which the practice mentioned (laying them all down at once) wouldn’t affect.

my issue is guys that burn immediately after flop or turn so they don’t have to do it when dealing the cards, but they often forget and burn twice.

Things/ people i don't like at the table

1) People that raise $1 after 5 people have already called a $1 bet So we now have to go around again.

2) People that bet/call $5 using quarters. (props to Encore dealer who told a guy to use big chips)

3) People who are talking when its their turn and you know they are folding. After 3rd prompt, they look at their cards and go.. 'oh yeah, i fold'

4) People eating really greasy food while playing cards, wipe their hands on their clothes and pick up their cards etc.

5) People who berate the dealer for getting bad cards.

6) People who complain a LOT about their luck but then run good. Then complain again when cards run bad. STFU! (i dont mind a little griping, but too much is too much)

7) People who are happy when they are winning , but bring the whole mood down at the table when they lose one big pot.

8) People who pick up their cards before dealer is finished. Wtf. let the guy finish dealing your cards.

9) People who call my bluffs. They are the WORST !

The host of the weekly cash game I attend gets really annoyed at this one player who gets up and leaves the table for extended periods whenever he amasses a sizable stack. Doesn't really bother me, since that player usually goes home broke at the end of the night.

One of my guys likes neat stacks of 10. Sometimes, he'll even choose his bet size to even out his stacks.

But at least his stacks are neat. :D

Just being abso-fucking-lutly clueless, even in hour 4 of the tournament.

sorry about that guy. He is very young at about 23 and his poker experience is very limited. About 50% of it is a one night in Vegas with my friend Matt on a layover flight home from Cali where I suspect he ran like God at a 1/2 game at O’sheas and concluded he was a savant. That’s not his fault Matt is a crazy lucky coach.

I did tell him tonight I’m going to teach him how to shuffle. Whatever he was doing with the cards is closer to what my 4 year old calls “mingling the cards” when we play go fish. Like a face up deck wash in your hands. o_O
