Ultrasonic Chip Cleaning (9 Viewers)

Standard mix of tsp to distilled water. 40 degrees celcius. The pinks and greens took 2 minutes. The whites were 4 minutes.

Still had some gunk caked into a few of the canes. But overall, very pleased.

Some of the most striking before and after shots - looks awesome!!!

Another 800+ through the cleaner today. Had to use the foyer because the multi-purpose room is still being renovated.

That looks great. I’ve got a small set that I’m dreading cleaning. They’ve definitely been long overdue for cleaning. I’ll have to consider this for sure.

If it's less than 1000 chips, I think you'd be better off cleaning them by hand rather than investing in an ultrasonic, unless you've got other regular uses for the machine. Some alternatives might be to see if there's a member with an ultrasonic close by that you can borrow, or maybe a rent one somewhere. Even with very regular play, you will probably not feel the need to clean more than once a year. Many might not even need to clean more than once, period.

I figure there’s no way to destroy these things, but faux clay good to go ultrasonic?

Less than 1000? I’d say less than 500   100 chips takes me like 1.5 hours to do so in my mind spending $64 is worth it to save me almost 6 hours and keep the feeling in my fingers.

I saw one person in here used this one. Anyone else use the Harbor Freight cleaner?

I used one from amazon that looks exactly the same and I have had no problem, just smaller batches and replace the water often.

Your results looked great too. May just go run and pick that one up. How many chips at a time did you do?

The results from the Ultrasonic cleaner on my newly acquired Horseshoe Cincinnati chips are truly astonishing. This is the second "appliance" I have acquired as a result of this forum. Both have proven to be life changing.

Is the ultrasonic a death sentence for hot stamps that look like this?

Ok awesome. Will take it slow on em at first. I’m using the phosphate free red devil

Good to hear. As long as they are even somewhat visible I’m good with it. Only have a barrel or so that are worn at all anyways
