What does the winner get? And is this a bracelet event?
It is a bracelet event. Nobody knows what 1st place money is just yet, as there are still 2 more day 1s to play.
I would like to also say how impressed I am with the lack of organisation on show by the wsop. It takes a real special effort to be this shit and disorganised
WSOP management is sorely confused. Every year when they run huge, affordable events, they are stunned by the amount of players that show up. I'm sure they will make the same comments again this year too - "it was bigger than we expected". I had a brief interaction with them a few years ago when I was looking at the massive line for rebuys. I asked, "what did you think a bunch of poker players would want to do after being knocked out"
Their answer was "We thought they would go home".
As someone that has run a couple of conventions, and worked closely with others, I know that there is a lot of work and planning that needs to happen, but they simply miss the mark. I will bet that if you ask the dealers how long their shifts are, they will tell you they are miserably long. I've seen dealers go for hours without a push, because there simply aren't enough dealers for all the games that they are pitching at the same time.
Still, the WSOP will make comments like "we have more events than ever before". The leave out the part where they say "and the same staff size that we had 5 years ago".
Still, great that you more than doubled your money. I hope you still had fun. Looking forward to the rest of your trip report!
