So do you prefer 39mm chips or larger, or do you like em both? (1 Viewer)

Me, I like the 39mm chips and don't like a mix of sizes on the table. Maybe I would be ok with the larger sizes if all the chips were the same size, but I doubt it.

43mm > 39mm
I have never mixed them so I don't know about that.
My dream collection would be an entire Paulson 43mm set.
I think there are a few out there and those would be sets I would love to play with. (That last statement is just for you @WedgeRock)

Love the 43mm chips. IMO this is the perfect size for chips. Sadly, I don't like the Sunfly 43mm chips because they have a different edge to my 39's. That and CPC will probably never make a 43mm Scrown mold.
But one day, when I'm not broke-assed poor and I'm finally paid out from my court case I'll be all over @hdgeno for his Ritz'

Like all chip sizes. In a cash set having the highest denomination chip a larger size is fine, it sets it apart as a big value chip. But for tournament sets I'm really not much of a fan of mixed size sets ie: 39mm for 25, 100, 500 then 43mm for 1K, 5K, etc. Prefer them all the same size.

I like mixed sizes in cash games ..... $0.25 to $5 as regular 39mm and $20 & $100 as oversized 43mm
Tourneys I prefer all one size with some plaques for the biggest denom

Those have found a new home south of the border @Quicksilver-75

I don’t like different sizes mixed in a set all that much, prefer all chips be the same size. I do like big chips though, I’ve been shuffling a stack of 48mm chips and man does it feel weird going back to a stack of 39mm

39mm. I’ll tolerate 43’s so long as they are not mixed in the same set.

The emergence of oversized high denoms ($1000+) bugs the sh!t out of me.

39mm all day for me. Not a big fan of 43mm in general, but I don't have a huge problem with them as long as the whole set is the same size.

I don't like mixed sizing within sets.

I like my chips mixed! Sizes and shapes! Put them all in play in the same game!

Sunfly has two 39mm options. A big recess and 7/8" recess. There is a huge difference in the rolling edge. The 43mm has an edge very much like the smaller recess of the 39. It's slightly rounded. The 39 with the larger 28mm recess is very square.
thanks!

I have one chipset that uses chips and plaques, and the plaques come in 2 sizes. It is hard to pick a "favorite" when you have multiple custom (or semi-custom) sets, but the set with plaques in in the top 2, simply because I love it when the largest plaques hit the table.

I don't believe I've ever played with a mixed size set. I've always thought it would be cool to have larger high denom chips.

What don't people like about playing with a mixed size set?
