Hi everyone,

As some of you know, my wife is extremely active in animal rights advocacy and has participated in the Walk for Farm Animals for several years now. It's organized by and for the benefit of Farm Sanctuary, which is a farm animal rescue and such a wonderful organization. There have been similar sanctuaries popping up over the last several years, but there are still far more abandoned and mistreated farm animals in need of rescue than organizations to do the work and Farm Sanctuary is still the best of the bunch.

As the title says, in exchange for donations to the walk, I'll be raffling off a package consisting of all the following:

(1) 10% equity in my entry into the upcoming Parx Big Stax $300+30 tournament (if you donate before my tourney flight which is this Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 11am EST);
(2) Two bridge size set-ups: one sealed Desjgn and one pre-USPC Kem (opened, but unplayed by me and in pristine shape, found in an antique shop a few years ago) plus 2 yellow and 2 red bridge size cut cards;
(3) Single chips in air-tites: one Binion's $100; one "Call This!" by emptypocs; and one ASM 100 year anniversary chip; and
(4) Sample sets of the following:
- Iron Bank (GoT) tourney set by stocky;
- The Boulevard cash set by bmichaelhorn;
- Key West cash and tourney set by dennis63 on CT;
- 12 "Enlighten Me" show 'em chips by toad94 on CT;
- Clermont Lounge cash set on ASM smooth no mold by me (design by J5);
- Monogrammed (denom on reverse) BCC cash set on flame mold by me;
- Clermont Lounge tourney set on MGK (incomplete - only 25, 500, 5000) by me (design by J5; stamping by monkeydog);
- CPS tourney and cash sets on Tower & Spear china clay;
- Nine Dragons tourney and cash sets on Game On ceramics;
- Fast Cash Club tourney set on Old West Poker Supplies ceramics by SixSpeedFury;
- Westside Lanes Casino cash set on Bud Jones S2s ($1, $5, $25 and $100) and Bud Jones Suits mold (.50, $3)
- PCF tourney set on PGI ceramics;
- Game On ceramic production samples (39mm and 44mm);
- CPC ceramic production samples (39mm and 43mm);
- CPC hybrid production sampes (39mm)

All items as pictured below. International participants are welcome at no extra charge.

So how much do you have to give for a chance at the above?

Donate $20 and receive 5 entries;
Donate $30 and receive 10 entries;
Donate $60 and receive 25 entries;
Donate $100 will receive 50 entries *as well as a set-up of 2008 or 2009 WSOP Kems (opened, but unused)*;

*Please note that there are no more WSOP set-ups remaining. The three I had are now spoken for thanks to the generosity of a few kind PCFers. Thank you guys

Procedure for the raffle will be as follows:
- Donations through this thread will close on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 8pm EST;
- Each participant will be assigned a spread from 0000 through 9999 sized according to the number of entries;
- I will post each participants' spread on Sunday, August 9, 2015 by 3pm EST;
- The winner will be determined by the New Jersey Pick 4 evening numbers on Sunday, August 9, 2015.

So what do you need to do to enter? Go to my wife's page here and donate a minimum of $20. Be sure to click the option to make your donation public and then also post in this thread. I will update the second post below so you can see that I have noted your participation and the correct number of entries.

Note: the donation site doesn't take PayPal, which I consider a PITA (though I know the arguments both ways), so an extra thank you for having to actually take the time to key in your number. If it's enough of a PITA that they don't take PayPal that you might be discouraged from donating, please PM me. You can PayPal me and I'll donate in your name and you can see it go up on her page for verification. My paypal is jbutler16 [at] gmail. Please include your PCF name (but do NOT include "PCF" as it will be flagged and held) in the message.

Note also: if you don't get your donation in before the start of the tournament, you will be drawing only for the stuff above and not the tournament equity. For those who do get their entries in before the tournament, the winner will receive 10% of my net, post-tax winnings.

Clarification: prompted by an emailed question that I hadn't considered, but should have, please note that no matter whether the ultimate winner of the package has donated in time for a piece of the tourney, 10% of my tourney equity will be given away to someone. If the person whose number is drawn in the NJ Pick 4 drawing did not donate in time to receive the piece of my tourney winnings, the winnings will go to the person who did donate in time and whose number is closest to the number drawn. In the event of a tie (equal distance on either side of the drawn number), the tourney winnings will go to the lower number if the number drawn in the NJ Pick 4 is odd and the higher number if the number drawn in the NJ Pick 4 is even.

Thank you so much in advance for any amount!

shameless bump, but to entice any who haven't yet donated, i will say that i just received a little tournament coaching email from courage, so obv with my rungood and his skill, i'd say i'm a pretty clear favorite to win the Parx tourney.

again, thanks so much to those of you who have donated. my wife is always impressed by the generosity of a bunch of degenerates. and extra large thanks to PAZ who has give $100 to each and every one of these i've posted (i did a couple over on CT before here some might recall).

and a little farm sanctuary video pr0n. first, a group of goat kids having a blast and then a particular goat - Scribbles - who was rescued and now gets to live a life of luxury at farm sanctuary:

i love Scribbles.

In for $20. Sent pp

In for $30, sent directly to her donation page.

you guys are awesome - thank you! i will update the second post with your info.

also please note that the WSOP setups for $100 donations are now exhausted. i didn't think we'd get three $100s so i'm really psyched and i know Jennifer will be as well.

In for $30 - PP sent.

I don't normally do this (FYI every time I see someone ask for a donation to something here, that amount gets added to my end-of-year donations to charities of MY choice) but this one's pretty close to home, you could say. ;)

thanks, Ben! will mark you down now. i have personally had very little contact with farm animals, despite having lived for nearly 30 years in georgia, but it just tugs at my heartstrings to see these guys and girls having a blast living free on a farm instead of miserable in a box.

fwiw if anyone is near Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, NY or Orland, CA, they have tours all the time and it's a blast to visit, particularly with kids. we've been to Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary in Willow, NY, too, and it's no less impressive and fun.

Live reporting from the tourney?

Yeah I guess I will just use this as a sweat thread. Don't know the rules about phones at the table in Parx tourneys (obv I am tourney pro), but will work it out somehow.

And thanks Jose! Will update second last when I get home!

last day for late sleepers to get a piece of the tourney. this time tomorrow i'll be on my over to parx to get registered.

as noted above, will provide proof of entry and updates (to the extent that they are possible given phone-at-table rules) in this thread. parx upates its poker blog here. they had 263 day 1A entries and 234 day 1B entries. no word on today obviously, but i would bet it will be 300+ and tomorrow is the last one, so it will be a big field of people trying to get their money back from the first one, two, or three entries.

With our combined tournament records, this is a lock. :p In for $30, donated on Jennifer's page. Great combo campaign you two!

I guess I kind of shamed courage into donating since it would look bad if he didn't believe in his student. Whatever it takes to fund the goats, though.

In for ten, $30 sent via paypal. Bink the tourney, regardless of what courage taught you.

thank you, Dave! i will do my best, but if i pick up pocket deuces and the other guy has pocket threes, not much i can do...

someone posed an interesting question that i thought merited clarification in the OP, so see below for the added provision. it makes clear that even if the winner determined by the NJ Pick 4 did not donate in time to get a piece of the tournament, the equity will still be given away to someone in the contest.

In for $60, under the wire.

I note two things: (1) I just put Jennifer over her goal and (2) my donation provides a bed for a cow named Eliott.

Which is interesting because (a) I didn't know cows needed beds and (b) Eliott is a strange name.

When I got home yesterday, and my wife asked if anything interesting happened at work, my answer was "I fed Sebastian the pig for one month".
